That doesn't make sense to me at all.

I thought the committee was an independent body free to choose whoever they wanted. For the administration to directly tell them that they don't have the freedom to choose who they want is exactly the interference I thought they didn't have to worry about.

The review firm is independent of Watts. He has no say in who they hire. I guess he can however not approve the payment contract.

Could he be rejecting them because they've already said the Carr report is a joke & the other finalist didn't say a thing so would be "unbiased". We all know they're not unbiased so Watts is just forcing us to choose a card he knows already from the stacked deck?

Alan Collins tweeting that per UAB, Watts has not rejected this.

I know what you will say regarding the truth/legitimacy of random UAB officials speaking on behalf of Watts, but just reporting it.
