RE: AAC tourney attendance
Do like the West Coast conferences and place it in Vegas, everyone wants to go to Vegas. Or since the league's center of gravity is to the east, place it in Atlantic City like the A-10.

Place it in NYC then. You're bound to get some casual spectators looking for something to do and random fans of the conference looking for an excuse to visit NYC.

Atlantic city was a great spot for the A-10 tournament. AC or the Palestra would be my vote.

I say have it in D.C.

There's a big basketball community there. It's not a terrible drive from several schools. And it's the most "American" city.

Seaside Heights is 1-1.5 hours away from AC. That would essentially be like saying SMU is in Waco.

I drove a girl from SMU to Austin to meet my parents and we went through Temple, Texas and she asked if that was where Temple University was. I just smiled and knew this was a fling

I agree.

This is a concept was brought up when the conference was formed and the more I think about it, I could really support the tourney being anchored in The Palestra with occasional hosting by programs that will draw good crowds.

None of these are reasons to think fans would travel significant distances for the AAC tournament. It just doesn't have that much appeal.

Even though it gives Memphis an advantage, best to just let them host it and their fans will show up or at least enough will that attendance won't be an abject embarrassment.

The problem for Memphis is the FedEx Forum is too big. Location and festivities are solid.
