RE: emu vs toledo
Ayaji didn't play in the last Toledo game and Samuels and Hunter had foul trouble. However tonight Toledo will face a fairly rested Samuels and Hunter and Ayaji potentially off the bench. I like our chances.

RE: emu vs toledo
They shot 32% against us last friday, which is well below their season average. Add 20 turnovers to that, and I can't imagine they have that poor of an offensive game again. A lot of that was due to us...we played a fantastic defensive game. But this is one of, if not THE best offensive teams in the conference. Keeping them down twice in a row is very difficult.

We will need another top notch performance from our Big Three. They played 116 of a possible 120 minutes combined last night (with KWard never coming out of the game), so the hope is that their legs aren't dead. Watching Talley play, I don't know if his legs will ever die. That kid is a machine. Can someone else like Tim Bond or Anali Okoloji step up if one of the Big Three struggles? That will be a key. As will limiting second chance opportunities for Toledo and keeping our turnovers down.

I'm not too confident...it's very hard to beat a good team twice in a row (since their last game was against us). A lot of factors working against us, but this team has proved me wrong a few times this year. I sure hope they do it again tonight!

Reallllly hope Talley and Ward got a lot of sleep last night. Unfortunately, I see them and Ray in the lineup for close to 40 min. again tonight.

The odds went 3.5 against us. Any news why?

Our game is on Streak For The Cash as a pick em. That's pretty cool. I can't remember any of our games being on SFTC since I've been a student/alumni.

RE: emu vs toledo
There are a few on here who will use this as a (i told you so) without taking into consideration the need of a whole season that builds a fan base. But then these people don't consider those of us that which theses guys play almost every game real fans.

I'm of the belief that if these people don't care about the whole season. If so then all non conference games should be away games! We can surely us the money more than than paying non d1 teams to be here as to only show off games that really dont count for squat. If the only games that count are tournament games so be it jus07-coffee3t flip a coin for seeding it means just as much.

There people on here that think the only games that count are tournament games. That a weak schedule doesn't mean anything. If thats true then why play any home games other than those in conference? To me that is a waste of money. Lets just get rid of all the home games and pocket the money. These home games are just being used to pad the stats and qualify people for bonuses. As seen by attendance hardly anyone comes to those games anyway and a lot of season ticket holders are getting sick and tired of paying to see our so called d1 team beat up on non d1 teams. And then brag about what a great record we have.07-coffee3

The same can be said for football, if no one is going to show up for home games why play any? It's just waste of money.

Dear superfan,
You're missing the point. The point is competitive inter-scholastic athletic contests, whether they are played in front of thousands, or nobody. I know that collegiate sports have gotten expensive, but would you rather play Allegheny College, or Toledo? If one goes back to the early sixties Eastern was playing Case-Western, Adrian, as well as the before mentioned Allegheny. If you think there is little fan interest now, how much do you think there would be with the teams that I mentioned?
I have said it before....bring a winning team, and the fans will come back, just like in the Harkema days.

RE: emu vs toledo
I actually wouldn't be mad at more road games. I think they do well to get you ready for MAC play. We didn't have many road games in our OOC this year until a 4-game stretch near the end of it, and then we struggled mightily on the road in our MAC schedule.

I've long been a proponent of trying to make some kind of home and home deals with lower tier BCS teams, like we did with Purdue where we went there twice and they came here once. And it's tough to get good mid majors to come to our building, so have them pay for us to come there. Toledo did it this season with VCU, and we did it with Dayton. Scheduling A10 teams is a wise move, assuming it's mutual.

And of course, I'll say this until I'm blue in the face: we need to play Oakland and Detroit every year. It makes sense for all parties involved. I don't know why we haven't played Detroit since Ramsey's last year. It makes no sense.

For what it's worth WMU accepted a CIT bid and will host a home game.

Others who have accepted invites to the CIT include Bowling Green, Oakland, EIU, USC Upstate, UIW, NJIT, St. Francis U

We owe Coppin State a game in mid-December and the staff is trying to arrange other games in the area. Some very good D.C.-area teams are possibilities. There are teams which can afford a nice guarantee. But remember, it takes two, us and them, to make a deal.

We'll see.

BTW, here is the CBI, the better of the two lower rung tourneys...
