RE: UT vs EMU
Inma called for a foul on a steal attempt. EMU misses front end of one and one. Rockets rebound and miss three shots. EMU is fouled and now go to the line. Misses Rockets rebound.

Would you rather it be called "alternate possession ball"?
Why yes I would!

RE: UT vs EMU
Rockets miss three point shot but get ball tipped out by EMU. Rockets miss two more shots and foul EMU's Sweeny. She misses. Rockets miss three point by Sweeny takes ball away from Jay-Ann and scores on a break away. 70-52 EMU with 1:39 left. Ana fouled, fifth team foul on EMU. Time out Rockets. Terrible shooting doomed the Rockets.

Rockets battling and getting rebounds on three missed shots. Jay-Ann fouled on a three point attempt. Jay-Ann makes three foul shots. Gives her 28 points, a career high for the freshman of the year.

RE: UT vs EMU
Sweeny fouled and hits both free throws. Rockets miss another three pointer and Sweeny, who else, hits a base line jumper. Jay-Ann answer with a base line jumper. 74-57 EMU win as they dribble the clock out.

Factor out Jay-Ann 30 points and the Rockets' shooting was abysmal! 11 for 40 in the second half.

Brenae Harris was one for twelve
Ana Capotosto was one of eight
Inma Zanoguera was three of fourteen
That's your game folks
Sophie had 16 rebounds, most of which involved two and three Eagles draped all over her.

Jim Heller is talking about post-season play based on 18 wins and Rockets fan base. I would be surprised but Jim is the glass is more than half full kind of guy.

The WNIT wants to make money and sell tickets. UT averaged the 25th largest attendance in the country last year.

OU is the only MAC team within the top 64 (RPI 59). They are penalized for a strength of schedule rank of 224. Akron and Western Michigan are the only other MAC teams within the top 100 RPI.
Lady Rockets are at 119 RPI before the loss to Eastern is factored in. So I would guess that would put them on the bubble for one of the "other" tourneys. By the way their win against Wisconsin Parkside does not count against Division I so that will put them at 17-13. That includes 6 wins against Central Michigan X2 (176), Miami X2 (276), Bowling Green (286), and Kent State (293). Mississippi Valley State is last with an RPI of 349.

Disappointing finish, given that we went further in the tournament last season and lost today to a team we really should be able to beat...but, I think there's a lot of talent coming back, and they'll be joined by a couple who sat out this year due to injuries and 2 freshmen who may be able to contribute early, so I'm cautiously optimistic that, even losing Inma, this will be a better team overall next time out.
For the above reasons, if we could somehow get a post-season game or two, that would be wonderful.

BSU got in last year at 18-16, but I agree it's highly unlikely the Rockets will get a look.

Better than many predicted. Was still an extremely young team with only 3 upper classwomen - one of whom was a transfer in and so still "new" to the system in that regard. So, to have a winning record is still a good season I think. We all expect more based on the UT WBB tradition, but considering everything, I still consider this a good year.
If UT could just find a way to avoid EMU in the tourney things would be much better.

I am sure they will get a look. Depends upon how or if they value the wins against BGSU, Miami X2 and Kent which were very weak teams this year. And how does the RPI put a value on Central's season given they lost the point guard and the best player in the league in the second half. I mean that team was on slightly better than the other three at the end of the season and UT played them twice after they had the injuries. So does that all matter to the pickers or are they only interested in the 3000 fans?
