Just an observation here but if this game is created in Little Rock I think it really raises AState's stock for getting UAB's spot in CUSA.

As it is, ULL, AState, TXST, NMSU are probably all about tied in the race for CUSA #14. CUSA definitely could use a bowl upgrade and taking AState into the conference is one way to do it.

In what way does C-USA need a bowl upgrade? Assuming the Arizona Bowl is approved the conference will have 7 guaranteed bowls this season and a backup role in the Independence. Opponents are 1 vs Big 12, 2 vs MWC, 2 vs AAC, 1 vs MAC and 1 vs SBC. With only 12 teams competing for 7 or 8 bowls this year, I don't see the need for another bowl right now. Charlotte is still transitioning and not eligible and UAB won't have a team.

You're basically going to see all bowl games converge toward being G5 vs. G5 or being P5 vs. P5.

The G5 conferences, in response, have started cranking out new G5 v G5 bowls to ensure they get enough post-season games for their members.

To be far to KH, the comment was given before there ever was mention of a AZ Bowl.

Only beef I've heard regarding CUSA bowls is that so many are outside the footprint of the league and difficult travel for fans.
