and this mom talk? maybe you need to re-read your own blog and you'll see that an Ohio fan admonished Mccrea for a remark he made and says "your mom let's you do stuff like this? she must have no class either". At which point you immediate jump in screeching "attack a college kids mom?1?!!?!?." over react much?
1 - ** They used the words rapist ** during the game. Take it up with the O-zone not with me.
2 - The *MOM* talk started before game, it was in their pre game cheat sheet. The after talk was just icing on the cake.
3 - I've also seen a lot of Ohio fans admonish the latest incarnation of the O-zone as classless beyond the norm.

Heard it from many people who were there. The common things yelled at McCrea were "No means No" and "Date Rapist" ..
I'm not saying it was O-zone organized but it was coming from among their numbers and they own it because it was inspired by their dirt sheet.

It's also something they have been saying over and over again *since*

One idiot saying it on Twitter is not chants of "rapist." That link says nothing about rape. The dirt sheet says only he called a girl a few times, not "this guy tried to rape someone." "No means no" is not even close to "rapist."

Look the word rapist was used. If ESPN3 had a replay I would pull it up for you, sadly it does not.
McCrea never did anything like that before (under spoon or hurley) and he never did anything like that after.. As I said it may have not been organized by the O-zone but it came from them and clearly it set McCrea off.

RE: "I hate Bobby Hurley"
I have little to say on the original piece or the resulting discussion other than I think you miss the point by criticizing the length, but I will say I enjoy every time that Bull Run gets criticized for something that boils down to pandering to Buffalo fans. They do, in fact, make up the majority of our readers and the majority of our lowest-hanging fruit when it comes to new readers.
AFAIC our role isn't purely being a neutral party in the vein of a (very narrow and short-lived) "golden era" of journalism; it's to find a way to bring not just news, but conversation to our readers. If True Blue and the O Zone get in a hissy fit, it doesn't really matter what I think about it, it matters that I know my readers will want to talk more about it. Even if I think Keno Davis and Chris Jans were more deserving of COTY and said as much on the blog, I'm going to publicize people offering opinions on Hurley's merits for the award.
I don't think it's out of line to, for example, tongue-in-cheek point out every time another coach in the conference gets a technical, and to say that it is is to I think really misunderstand what the site's role is. I can only go back 18 months to when I started writing, but I don't think we've ever misrepresented facts or been grossly homerish in matters of opinion.
I'll go back to the post perimeterpost misquoted:
"It's almost like... people are surprised that Bull Run is pro-Buffalo. I for one am shocked myself."
