Poll Finds Americans Consider Fox Most Trusted News Network…
[Image: o5yemu.jpg]

MSNBC on the bottom.....shocking.

Quote: Fox News has the most trusted network and cable news coverage in the United States, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released Monday. But network TV is much less trustworthy than it was in the days of Walter Cronkite, American voters say.

In comparison rankings, 29 percent responded that they trust Fox News the most. CNN follows with 22 percent, CBS News and NBC News are at 10 percent, ABC News at 8 percent and MSNBC at 7 percent.

Asked whether they trust the journalistic coverage of each network, 20 percent said they do “a great deal” for Fox, and 35 percent said “somewhat.”

Comparing today’s programming with the heyday of network news, only 7 percent of those surveyed think the information presented now is more trustworthy, with 48 percent responding that it is less so and 35 percent answering that it is about the same.[…]

Forty-two percent of registered voters think NBC should allow Brian Williams to anchor “NBC Nightly News,” while 35 percent think they should not give him another chance after his suspension.

Real question should be who is the least distrusted network. They all stink in my opinion. Maybe one day a truly radical idea will come along for the networks, providing unbiased news without a hidden political agenda.

Most trusted does not equal most accurate.

If not the most accurate, or possibly most honest, what is fox news most trusted for then?

Yea, if only Fox news was a serious news source like MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN. Wait, those all finished behind in this poll didn't they.

I'm assuming you are asking why not what?

Answer: Making the news tailored to what people want to hear rather than what they need to hear, that's the result.

That's a bit ridiculous.

I'm not arguing in favor of that particular talking point, however lets not pretend that there isn't a large number of people who believe FNC/MSNBC is not as legitimate as the other main stream news sources. At the same time the polls showing how informed viewers are, devotion of air time, and misrepresentation of source material puts those two networks in negative light compared to the other networks.

What I'm basically saying is that his statement while worded with a little bit of flaming, isn't exactly an unfounded claim. If we are gonna establish that this talking point is falls under that, then the interpretation of the rule by ODU is clearly being done with a conservative lean on them.

Just my 2 cents...

Unlike MSNBC where any Conservative voice is Ridiculed and Shamed daily by All of the Hosts not named Morning Joe, FNC always has 2 sides to nearly every view being discussed thus the term "Fair & Balanced" They almost always allow a Left view and counter a Right View. Yes sometimes They might Talk over each other at the same time but at least They get Their points across.

Anyone that believes any of the news outlets are trustworthy is a fool.

I just watch Fox for the chicks.

No, i meant what i asked. What is fox news most trusted for? Is it for being honest, accurate, truthful, or as Fit suggests believable? Even if the answer is believable than accuracy and truthfulness is implied, otherwise why would people trust fox news?

I find it telling that the network most devoted to the presidents agenda and the one that undeniably gives him the most cover is the least trusted.

A UCLA journalism school study a few years ago said Fox was the least biased. Fox tilted slightly to the right, but all of the others tilted far to the left.

The UCLA journalism school is a hotbed for conservative views. How can you trust anything they produce?

Most of the idiots who think Fox News is a joke of a network hear that from people like Barack Obama & Jon Stewart...so their opinions don't matter anyway. Fox always offers opinions from both sides, and reserves judgment on hot issues (like the Trayvon Martin & Ferguson incidents, as well as the Aurora CO movie theater shooting)... after the shooting in Colorado, the lefties on the news were already saying the guy was a Tea Party member, which was proven false.

I believe the study is limited to "news" only, not opinion shows. Fox does the best at presenting the news in a neutral manner, unlike MSNBC which has a liberal bias not just in their opinion shows, but also in their news shows.

Conservatives watch Fox because it panders to what they already believe. From what I've read, there are more networks that are liberal. Therefore, conservatives congregate on Fox while the liberal watchers are split up amongs multiple networks. Thus, Fox gets higher ratings. And naturally the people that watch it, trust it, or they wouldn't watch it.

It still doesn't mean anything.

Journalism's original duty was to be the watchdog of government not the lapdog of the government.

When people see journalists asking softball questions rather than asking probing questions, when they see journalists ignoring stories rather then following them through to see where they lead, it makes them question whether those individuals are trying to really uncover truth or are nothing more than mouthpieces and water carriers.

Watch a press conference in the WH and listen to the questions. Many times you can tell by the type and line of questioning which media outlet they are from.

^ add the ratings up for the various liberal media outlets. Id be shocked if they were higher than fox for most time slots. More trusted, more reliable, more balanced, more watched.
Its just my opinion, but i believe plenty of liberals think fox is more trustworthy than the liberal media outlets, thwy just dont want to admit it.
