CFP approaching Former NC State HC Tom O'Brien to join the Committee
From the article:

Former NC State coach Tom O'Brien has been approached about the possibility of being a future member of the College Football Playoff selection committee, a source told ESPN.com, and O'Brien said he is interested.

Former NC State coach Tom O'Brien has been approached about becoming a future member of the CFP selection committee, according to a source.
The terms of four current committee members -- Mike Gould, Pat Haden, Tom Osborne and Mike Tranghese -- expire in February.

I wouldn't mind if the entire committee was nothing but retired/unemployed coaches. I don't think people with full time jobs have enough time to watch enough games and I think coaches understand the game better than administrators. From a distance, TOB seems like a classy guy and would be a good person to have on the committee.

Myself you love to see someone from the NFL like a Bill Polian or Gil Brandt...Retired but know actual Football from a Talent and X and O Stand Point and would not have the "Conference" bias...

Yes, Maize, I'd be fine with that too.

My biggest gripe is when you have someone who is an AD or has some other time-consuming job and they are expected to keep up with 128 football teams on top of that... doesn't seem like they can take it very seriously.

This just adds even more controversy to the whole system.

The committee is the worst part of the playoff.

I agree that the committee has its problems.

I just don't know what would replace it. An AP poll? :)
