I'll be in Montgomery tomorrow protesting, so no - now is not the time for UAB fans to pause the protesting.

In fact, I would let it be known at the game how we feel.

Scarbo is right. This week is about basketball, not football. Protest Tuesday but the test of the week should be about support ing basketball.

Of course his message will fall on deaf ears and Scarbo will be labeled as a BOT plant.

It's not an either/or proposition. It's entirely possible to do both.

Not just no. Hell no.

The conference tournament is a great opportunity to protest on a televised stage and bring further embarrassment to Ray Watts. We attend and we chant. But we do not pause. We never, ever pause. Never forgive, never forget.

Our world has changed. Whatever the outcome, we will never just be "fans" again. Our childhood has ended, and no matter how desperately we may want to return, how furiously we try to pretend that we can just will Gene Bartow back to life and the calendar back to 1982, that Eden where we only cared about free throws and jump shots is forever closed to us.

We fight.

If UAB basketball fans want to protest, do it at the tournament games and in large numbers. Support the teams AND protest the loss of our keystone sport. I believe one can do BOTH at the games.

Right on! But don't believe that Kevin meant not to protest at all, he is just saying just don't protest by skipping the tournament. I will be there with my big sign, "Fire Ray Watts, Replace the BOT" and screaming my head off as usual. I just hope my seat is in a sea of Green. And "Fire Ray Watts" chants will reverberate in the BJCC (or whatever they are calling it now) even if I am the only one doing it. I think it would be great if the fans from the other schools join in. That would be very cool on TV.
