RE: Next year
Can someone refresh my memory on who has already signed to play for us for next year (2015-16), those that are still committed, and how many scholarships we have remaining for the upcoming season? I am too lazy to dig through the recruiting threads.

We having only signed one kid a PG named Hooker. another kid who was committed back out when Bartow got fired. We have 3 scholarships left unless some leave.

What's the deal with recruiting and NCAA rules at this annual time with relation to the many coaching changes?

I'm not certain about this, but I think LOI's are binding until/unless the incoming coach releases the student from the contract. McReynolds, on the other hand, only verbally committed, so he's not contractually obligated. Speaking of McReynolds, it'll be interesting to see if Forbes pursues him.

Rod's correct - we have 3 scholarships to give at this point in time.

Thought I would bump this thread back up since we have signed several guys since then. Based on who we have signed so far what do you think the starting 5 might be to start the season?

I like this, just not sure about 1 and 3. I want to say, but you can't leave AJ out of the starting rotation, but then again I think the wing will be the logjam this year depending on how many players Forbes wants to let in the games.

I'll definitely get around to it - I'm obsessive enough to do that sort of thing for my own enjoyment.

But right now there's so much still up in the air. So many names being tossed around, coming and going. So much uncertainty.

It's hard for me to commit too much time during this process. It can be fun to speculate, but with this level of uncertainty it's just hard to say much with any confidence. And we're hardly the only SoCon team facing big changes.

I've also got to start from scratch. The end of last season left such a bad taste that I never even did my usual end-of-season wrapup. Doing that is usually a good (and necessary) start for analyzing next year.

But I'm excited about the Forbes era and have already renewed my season tickets. I'll be getting around to it as the dust settles.

Given the announcements of the last couple of days, I thought it might help some to recap just what the roster will look like for this upcoming season.

Returning:
McClain 6-0
Banks 6-7
Bradford 6-4
Merriweather 6-2
Wilson 6-4
Jurkin 7-0

Newcomers:
Lufile 6-7
Johnson 6-6
Holley 6-8
Cromer 6-3

Rumored additions:
Guyn 6-2
Uchebo 6-10

Sitting out:
Mosquera-Perea 6-9

Did I miss anyone?

Just the walk-on, Stetson Moore, as far as I can tell. :)

Want to emphasize that none of our guards are < 6' and none of our bigs are < 6'7. Our SF's can be SF's, our PF's are actually PF's, and there are potentially TWO centers. WTF?

This roster resembles a roster from a program in a power conference.
Beautiful.

RE: Next year
I agree and am very excited about the next 2 years. However, we are basically ignoring the fact that many of these players have significant baggage (which is why we have them). I hope we can keep these players out of legal trouble, etc. while they are here. That is a risk that should at least be factored into our level of excitement.
