D1baseball keeps Rice at #10, with #2 TCU, #6 A&M (Kendall's homie pick), #18 Texas, #20 FAU, #24 Tech, #25 Houston (only because they were a Top 10 preseason pick)...

Walt, has we beaten TCU this week instead of lost, where do you think that would have moved us and them, respectively?

Only a couple slot difference for both teams. TCU still would have been ranked ahead of us after wins over Vandy and UCLA on the West Coast....and I very much doubt we would have moved up more than one or two spots. However, we likely would have stayed ahead of the Aggies.

The kiddie corp at Perfect Game actually DROPPED us 3 spots to #24 this week, Keeping UH, UT, Tech and the Aggies all ahead of us. Crazy rankings with USC coming in at only #23 (behind the Coogs, who have lost 6 of their last 9 games, and who do not yet have a quality win), and 10-5 Louisville (with several bad losses) at #8...

...Note, they have FAU four spots ahead of us!!!

RE: Baseball Polls (w/o March 9)
I can't imagine that the Rice-TCU game would've made much difference for either team's ranking... with something like 18 pitchers taking the mound and a relatively low scoring game, I think it would be a mistake to make any conclusion about how those teams would fare against the rest of the field. TCU did look a bit stronger, but that's expected at their current rankings.

I'm sorry I have no confidence in any poll that can have Tech in the Top 25. They have yet to play anyone in the Top 25 and the only team with a pulse on their schedule just swept them. How the heck does this schedule http://www.d1baseball.com/schools/txtech.htm get you ranked #24? Along with the money to start the D1 site must have come some pretty good pharmaceuticals from ESPN.

3-1 for the week, all on the road, and the one loss was a 3-1 defeat at #2 TCU...and we drop 3 spots? What are these guys thinking or looking at?
