For the good of the conference, Part 2
I personally believe it's now better that SMU and Cincy get the best seeds possible rather than Tulsa winning the conference tournament for a 4th bid.

And Temple needs to cement its bid with a win over Memphis.

So for the good of the conference, I am rooting for:

1. Temple to beat Memphis in the quarterfinals,
2. Cincy to beat Tulsa in the semifinals
3. SMU to beat Temple in the semifinals
4. Don't care about the finals, although a Cincy win might help their seed more than a SMU loss would hurt.

Of course, this assumes Houston can't win it. I am not asking fans to root for the conference over their own school.

If Temple doesn't win the conference tournament, I want UCONN to win it all and join us in the dance.

If UConn wins it, does that eliminate Temple? They are in Lunardi's last 4 in.

They are on the opposite side of the bracket from UCONN. Temple can still pick up wins vs Memphis and SMU.

We ARE thinking way too much about this...but who cares, its fun...

Here's what I'd like to see:

Temple beating Memphis - IN

Tulsa or UCONN winning the tourney - IN

4 bids for the AAC which would be very very solid...although at this point i'd be happy with 3.

btw, Jerry Facepalm has this as a 2-bid league...yep...to him we are no better than the WCC and worse than the A-10, MWC.....

He has Tulsa and Temple as the first four out. It is nothing against the AAC but when you get down to the last 4 teams, there is not a whole lot of separation and it is hard to say what the committee will do. Best case AAC get 4 teams in Worst Case AAC would have 2 bids and two of the top seeds of the NITs. Probably not bad for a down year for AAC basketball. AAC just doesn't need to repeat performances of 2014-15 Football and Basketball next year.

If there's one thing we learned about the Big East tourneys at MSG, you can't predict how it will go. The tournament has a life all its own and it does what it wants to do.

This isn't like Memphis winning C-USA every year.

I am just excited to play in a conference where there are compelling quarterfinal match ups.

Memphis/Temple and UConn/Cincy will be fun games to watch.

It's a far cry from the CUSA days.

The tournament will be really exciting. I think the top 6 teams all have a shot, although Memphis without Nichols is unlikely. I think the best for the conference would be either Tulsa over Temple, or UConn over Temple in the championship game. At this point though, I just hope someone steps up and claims the 3rd bid -- preferably Temple since they are on the opposite side of the bracket from my team.

If UCONN can play like they did against SMU (with Hamilton and Purvis playing lights out), there is no reason they can't ride their fan support to the dance.

I agree about pulling for what's best for the AAC, AFTER your own team. For Memphis, it's unfortunate, b/c we likely need to beat Temple to make the NIT.

Will Austin Nichols play?
