Only thing "set in stone" is that Houston does not do well in basketball....and probably never will again...
But we can all pay homage to clyde the glide and hakeem the dream...
If we want to live on memories, I would say nobody could beat SMU at football because we had Dickerson and James...
/cheers
only fran dunphy has more tourney appearance (by 3) than sampson in this league but sampson has made it way further in the tourney that him..... im not sure whats to laugh about or what the joke is
ill take basketball trash talk from memphis, uconn, cincy temple and even tulsa a bit...but atleast weve been to a tournment this decade.......and until selection sunday, thats more than smu can say....
and after selection sunday smu will still be tied with houston for the same amount of tourneys this decade, so get off your high horse....
the funny thing is that without larry brown houston is a better recruting team than smu by a mile and larry browns best recruiter was hired from UH....oregons best player (a tourney team) oklahomas second best player (a tourney team) and texas a&m best player (a ncaa bubble team) were all players on houston who transferred out because we changed coaches, so lets not act like we dont get talent at houston...
i never even said smu wont be a top team but that your success is heavily based on your coach and he's old, that you should wait til his heir appearant takes over to see if the success is sustainable before crowning smu a permanent top team in the league

The stink of today's game notwithstanding ECU did a little better than I was expecting in league play this year, but a lot worse than I was expecting OOC.

Yeah that was something terrible. Coaching, coaches energy, players energy. Leading scorer only playing 16 minutes and not getting into the game the first 7 minutes.
That was one of the worst games I have endured in the Lebo ere, and that is saying something. But none the less we suck two less spots than predicted.

That is somewhat funny coming from an SMU fan. You're recruiting mean isn't near the top unless we are only going back 3 years.
Most of us aren't going to magically hire a Larry Brown, but to suggest us cellar dwellers can't improve our lot, similarly to how SMU has, is incorrect.
Of course, none of this applies to ECU as we have signed Lebo through 2021.

Actually temple was tied for third so they could be +3.

I used AAC tournament seeding for all teams. You know bc the conference determines tie-breakers.
Good first post. Welcome aboard

Is Pastner done if he doesn't with the AAC tournament? Anyone know anything, have a hunch, etc.?
The AD gave him his vote of confidence. The only way he isn't back next year is if he takes another job this off season.

Yep we're at the "AD's public vote of confidence" step. Typically means next season he has to produce.

The season wasn't an unmitigated disaster, as I feared it would be. Instead it turned out to be a small step forward. The wins @Memphis and @Cincinnati were pleasant surprises, but on the other hand, 3 WTF losses is hard to stomach.
All in all, I think Tulane can do better in the coaching department, but it seems obvious that no change will be made.
