Dallas re-signs Free

Think I would have went with Jeremy Parnell who is younger, and less injury prone.
Win/win either way I guess though.

RE: Dallas re-signs Free
Free is a little better, but he is over 30. Its a good move considering what they signed him for, imo. He's been pretty healthy until this year, and he played at a high level last year when healthy.

Its strange to watch all this unfold the last 3-4 years, but the cowboys front office is operating at an elite level right now. We've seen the spectacular drafts they have been able to string together. They actually went ahead with squeezing Dez and Murray with the Franchise tag and FA, which is a very smart move for future. These are the type of moves the perennial powers of the NFL make. Good times may well lie ahead.

Most of this is probably due to Stephen Jones and Jason Garrett. Stephen Jones looks like an a natural GM, one who grasps the job like a superior NFL guru.

Thank the Good Lord. lol

Parnell is getting a deal from the Jags paying him $32 million for 5 years and $12 million guaranteed, WHICH IS TOTALLY ABSURD.

No way we can afford to pay a swing tackle that kind of money.

Interestingly, the old Jerry might have signed Parnell to that absurd contract, Stephen Jones and Garrett know better.

Stick with Free, who is a better and more polished player. Developing a 3rd tackle is not an impossible task. The staff developed Parnell, they will develop another one.
