Screw you and the NIT too.

Typical Memphis fans. Enjoy watching the Tigers get curb stomped Sunday.

There's a few in every crowd. Ignore it. There are lots of good fans here. Hope Cronin recovers completely.

That's the time you do complain, when you win.

RE: ***Official Memphis @ UConn Game Thread***
For the season Ct has shot 517 free throws to 502 for their opponents, so this was an anomaly.

In one other game, when they played ECU, there was a 22-2 free throw advantage for UConn. So take out our game and that game and they have been out free throwed.

Other than those games, the least opponent free throws was seven.

When we played them in Memphis we shot 25 free throws. Yes Nichols played that game. They shot 22, same as yesterday.

Prior to last night the fewest fee throws our kids shot was seven, twice. SMU and Houston. SMU had three fouls called at the half to our ten last week, Kedren fouled out etc...

In spite of trends being against it, in back to back trips to ct, the free throw disparities were absolutely enormous. They were difference makers, in the game last year, when they shot something like 26-6 during regulation and 36-9 for the game...remember Napier shooting when breathed upon and Shaq simply getting up from the floor to no call after being hit...and in making last nights game a nail biter.

Classic, even high schooling like home court advantage against us.

Biggest similar style gap in any of our games was our 14-3 advantage over ECU at home. We won that game by twelve, and they shot 27 threes so fewer free throws would be expected. We took 16 threes last night. Burrell drove a lot...zero free throws.

Weird.

Glad Godfrey pulled Pastner away from the ref, a tech there might have changed the outcome of the game! I believe Josh needs to challenge the refs more. Nothing wrong about standing up for your players.

Last night was a good time to get after the refs. But now it is time to stop and let's just hope for the same kind of effort on Saturday.

Well, they were pretty bad. I mean it bit UCONN in the end, but we had some real crappy calls go against us the whole game.

COGS Worldwide Wes must have been involved. Cal wanted us to lose.

Some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time.

And as an aside, it's odd that such a champion of "celebrate the win and move on" as yourself has talked a lot more about fans' reactions to the officiating than the game itself, and has certainly done anything but "move on."

You show keen insight into hoopy boy. A leopard can't change his spots. He CAN change his tactics.

He should have given that ref a nose to nose piece of his mind. His meek demeanor encourages refs to walk not only over him but our players. These last few games have been some of the most one sided officiating I've ever seen.

Not trying to be argumentative with you, but I thought the same thing about Josh needing to be in the ref's face - and I've felt that way for a couple of years (that he's too soft). But, if you have a chance to watch a replay of what was going on then, a Tiger player (maybe Johnson?) had Josh by the arm and was pulling him away from the ref as the ref was giving him the stink-eye. Maybe he didn't want his coach to get tossed, I don't know, but that's why he didn't continue to yap at the ref.

Yeah, I wish I knew which player held Pastner back. As a player, Finch used to hold Bartow back all the time. It was great showmanship and worked better than getting a T. Of course, you also knew it meant Larry was going over to tell Ronnie to grab a few more boards and get the game under control.

Godfrey grabbed Pastner's arm to pull him off the court and it looked to be Crawford that helped out after that.

The look on the ref's face when Pastner confronted him was absofreakinlutely priceless.

The ref wasn't shocked, he said to Pastner, what are you doing out here? Crawford pulled him away. That's where the dramatics needed to come in.

In a big arena, you have to be animated, it's like taking the shtick from professional wrestling.

lol Agree. The ref looked more sheepish. He dropped his "I'm a ref and you're not" look. Never seen that look before.
