OVC Championship
Well this marks the 3rd straight season we have played in the OVC championship (in three seasons representing the OVC). Given the seniors we have lost the last two seasons, I did not expect us to get to reach the finals again this year. But we did. Never doubt a coach Byrd tournament team.

Now the true test. IMO this Murray State team is is the toughest conference opponent we have ever faced and is much better than the 2012/13 team they had with Isiah and Ed Daniels. Cam Payne is a lottery draft pick (I hope he leaves next year). Williams and Fairell are beats in the paint. And Moss and Sapp are underappreciated due to their plethora of talent. We will have to play like we did against EIU to win this one.

Fortunately, tonight's game will be more of an offensive battle than the EKU game last night. Ricky B is much more comfortable coaching an offensive game and our players will need it, playing their 3rd game in 3 nights.

I hope we bring more fans tonight. Belmont needs to consider scheduling our students spring break on another wkend. It always falls on the wkend of the tournament. With such a small alumni base, our students represent the majority of our attendance. We all know Murray fans travel in bunches so we will need to be loud with what we got.

Murray may be the talent of the OVC but Belmont is the class. I don't know if you guys saw it but Payne was pumping his chest last night saying "this is my house." What about his teammates? Why not say our house (although it's not)? He could never play for Belmont. No class and selfish. It will be a tough game but I like a coach Byrd led TEAM against a young inexperienced point guard who puts himself before his squad.

RE: OVC Championship
Great win last night. Great environment for the Belmont fans that were there. One of Byrd's best coaching jobs ever in a game against a EKU team, that frankly, is much better on paper then us IMO. Our guys kept chipping away though and fought hard. You never had the feeling they were out of it.

Gotta shoot better Free Throws tonight though...BRUTAL last night.

Murray is going to be very difficult. Their size and athletic ability is going to be a nightmare for us, like it was when we played them earlier this year. We just dont have the size this season I think to really match up with them. We really are going to need to rely on hitting threes and not turning the ball over.

Unlike EKU, I think Murray will work the ball inside. I just don't understand why EKU didn't try to go to Stutz more in the second half last night. He killed us in the first half. Murray I think will try to abuse us in the paint.

We have a chance, but it won't be likely or easy to beat them. I was really hoping Morehead was going to finish them off.

Go Belmont. See you all out there tonight.

You would have a tough sell convincing somebody Cam Payne is "selfish" when you consider his 176 assists is good for 2nd in the conference, lol.

As a player Cam does it all. Incredible talent. He will be a lottery draft pick IMO. Just thought his comment was selfish, that's all. Jarvis Williams was MVP last night and Cam was saying it's his house. When you've got 11 other players battling in a close game, including Jarvis who added 23 points and 10 boards on 56% shooting, there should be no me or my.

Must have a short memory. We are absolutely a championship caliber program. Been in the OVC 3 years and have gone to three championships, including one win and a chance at another tonight. We've been more of a championship caliber team than anyone since joining the conference. We are in it this year with a young team and with Murray losing Fairell, Williams, and Sapp and EKU losing Stutz and Walden, I expect will remain at the top going forward.

Not a championship caliber team? Won two of three since joining the OVC. And no IT'S NOT CAM'S HOUSE! It's Belmont's.

I do hope MSU gets a nod to the tournament though. They deserve it for sure. One loss should not keep them out.

As an EKU fan, I was asking the entire second half why the ball wasn't going inside to Stutz...

Good luck in the dance..

Yea i think every Belmont fan was glad you didn't. He killed us in the first half. Good luck in the postseason as well.
