There was never a doubt that he would sign somewhere. He got 3 years in Dallas. Salary unknown so far.

Congratulations to Doug Free. The Huskies have had some solid O lines for an extended period of time. Perhaps we should be known as O line U.

Congrats to him, happy he can stay with a frsnchise that has learned how to win again by running the ball effectively more often. As much as I would want to see him in a Bear uniform; Dallas has a much better chance of making the SuperBowl than the Bears over the next 2-3 years.

If Bears don't get Cutler better olineman they won't have to worry about paying him
That 2nd year of $18M, he may not make it through 2015 in one piece

I generally root for any NFL team with a former Huskie on the roster, so I'm disappointed that he ended up back with the Cowboys (I just can't do it). Good for him though, sounds like a good deal.

Ended up as the cheaper guy compared to his replacement. Thought it would be the other way around so no surprise that they kept Free considering their salary cap woes

Jacksonville got a bad deal there with Pernell, Free is a better player.

Free is 3 years older with injury history. Both teams ended up fine.

Happy for Doug, he will always be the most exciting offensive lineman i've ever watched. I remember him leading out Wolfe on a run once, and he was seemingly running just as fast as he was down the sideline. It's obvious why everyone called him Doug Freak.
