"Right to Work" doesn't mean unions were outlawed.

I know. That's my point

If that's your point you completely missed the point.

No, my point is that all the big pro-Union folks out there are going to be talking about how Walker banned unions with this bill, which isn't true, but they will try and spin it that way.

RTW is essentially the death knell of any union shops ability to bargain. That is the best part of this. The membership will drop quickly from those that were being forced to join leaving.

Good for them. I'm right to work, yet not necessarily against unions. It's not a black or white issue to me. I can see the benefits of collected bargaining, but unions as-is have to come up to the times as much as individual workers and businesses do.

so right to work apparently gives unsafe working conditions? How did this new law repeal OSHA?

RE: Wisconsin Assembly passes right-to-work bill
The unions blew a sh*t load of money on the original collective bargaining law plus all of the elections and recall elections in between. The bussed in tens of thousands of people pretending to be Wisconsin citizens. Instead of winning, they have seen their memberships dwindle, and they have been smacked by a couple of court rulings which forced them to pay back dues to those they should not have collected from in the first place.

What you are seeing now is the actual backlash to what Walker has been doing the past few years. This is all it ever was. The rest of it was outside influence purely manufactured by the unions. And now the unions have a cash flow problem, and they cant just peddle influence by bussing in masses of people.

Obama Criticizes Wisconsin's New 'Right-to-Work' Law

Love it...

Quote: President Barack Obama is criticizing a new Wisconsin law that prohibits requiring workers to pay union dues, saying it "will weaken, rather than strengthen workers."

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker signed the measure into law Monday. Walker is expected to run as a Republican candidate for president in 2016.

Obama accuses Walker of claiming "victory over working Americans," and says Walker should do more to help working-class Americans "by taking meaningful action to raise their wages and offer them ... paid leave."

Supporters of the Wisconsin law argued it will help attract new businesses, while opponents said it will drive down wages and make workplaces less safe.

Obama says the new Wisconsin law is part of "a sustained, coordinated assault on unions, led by powerful interests and their allies in government."

This is all about not requiring workers to pay union dues. As always, follow the money.

Thing is, Mach, why wouldn't liberals be pro-choice here? I mean, doesn't everyone deserve a choice of whether to be a part of a union? Why not at least be consistent?

"Pro-choice" means pro-choice on one and only one issue. Always has, probably always will.

Pro-choice is being able to schedule your abortion in the morning or afternoon.
