The penalties...I wish we just paid an agent $200k for a QB to play F the NCAA

•Five years of probation from March 6, 2015 through March 5, 2020.
•Vacation of all wins in which ineligible men’s basketball students played in 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2010-11 and 2011-12 and ineligible football students played in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07. The public decision contains additional details.
•Fine of $500 per contest played by ineligible students.
•The school must return to the NCAA all funds it has received to date through the former Big East Conference revenue sharing for its appearances in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
•Suspension of the head basketball coach from the first nine conference games of 2015-16.
•Reduction of men’s basketball scholarships by three for the 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years. If the school has already executed scholarship offers for the 2015-16 year, the school may begin the four-year penalty with the 2016-17 year.
•Reduction in the number of permissible off-campus recruiters from four to two during June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2017.
•The panel also accepted the school’s self-imposed postseason ban for the 2014-15 season, but noted that self-imposition of penalties after the conclusion of infractions hearings does not influence the outcome.
•Additional self-imposed penalties can be found in the public decision.

When Adams was president at UGa, he hired Jim Harrick and looked the other way while Harrick's son "taught" a phony-baloney class that basketball players took to get easy credits, among other NCAA violations under Harrick. So the NCAA put Adams on the Committee on Infractions?

10 scholarships for 4 years will hurt. UNC must be worried.

I'd give them a couple schollies back if they agreed to play 5 OOC games/year at opponents home courts outside of the state of New York

How many scholarships are college basketball programs allowed to give away per year? 6? So Cuse would be down to 3 for 4 years?

Basketball there is no limit on how many per year just the cap of 13 Total.

If Syracuse can get a few one and done guys the next few years they might be able to survive the penalties without damaging the program too badly.

Hope this same committee reviews North Carolina. They came down pretty hard on Syracuse.

What BE revenue sharing was/is Syracuse getting that they have to forfeit?
We left all NCAA basketball credits behind to both the Big East and AAC.

Syracuse only forfeited the future credits, not all credits. What would be owed back would be the revenue Syracuse received in 2012 from the 2011 tourney, the revenue Syracuse received in 2013 from the 2012 and 2011 tourney, and maybe any bonuses Syracuse received in 2013 for the 2013 tourney.

I have no comment on the Cuse part of this matter - other than OUCH!


The NCAA does not apply penalties on this stuff with any kind of consistency. It is so damned random, it is sickening.

And for you folks pounding on Memphis and now UK with Cal in the past and present ad naseum - Why hasn't the NCAA been able to pin him down hard like this? Is he just teflon, smarter, what?
