Are we a 5 or 6 seed?
If we lose to Cincy are we a 5 or 6 seed if UConn beats Temple? We own the tiebreaker.

If we lose and UConn wins, they will be the 5 and we will be the 6 based on conference record as we are both 10-7 right now.

The 6 seed might not be that bad considering but with all the ankle injuries the extra day might help

RE: Are we a 5 or 6 seed?
I haven't looked it up, but what are the scenarios for Temple to get the 3 vs 4? I know the Tulsa/SMU winner is 1 and loser 2. Memphis and Uconn are the 5/6 somehow. What about Temple and Cincy for the 3/4? I'm really hoping Memphis is on the side of the bracket with Tulsa and Temple. Let Uconn/Cincy/SMU smack each other around first.

Edit: Looking at it, I think a Memphis win (over Cincy) and Uconn win (over Temple) is the only way Memphis is the 5 and Temple the 4. Temple and Cincy split the regular season, so not sure how that tiebreaker works, but all sites have Cincy ahead of them currently so I would assume Cincy holds the tiebreaker.

So to avoid SMU, Uconn, Cincy in AAC tourney until the finals Memphis needs to beat Cincy, Uconn needs to beat Temple, and Tulsa needs to beat SMU.

Even if that doesn't happen, this tourney is still wide open.

We match up better with Cincy than Temple.

True...We need what Tulsa does...

If they win we need to win if they lose we need to lose.

Regardless of match ups, we don't have depth for 4 games. Need the bye.

Good point...But would rather duck SMU...Let UConn take them out.

What we are is Temple fans on Saturday, which will take off all the pressure on Sunday.

RE: Are we a 5 or 6 seed?
The only one to avoid is SMU. The rest you can pretty much toss up in a hat. And UConn just whipped SMU up there, so if we play like we did last night, we can beat anybody in the AAC.

If we play much worse than that, anybody can beat us. I think this year, seeding matters a lot less than normal. Individual matchups seem to matter more, and they vary a bit.

For example, UC seems to be a good matchup for us, but a bad one for SMU, yet SMU seems to be a bad matchup for us..

We only played 7 players with Austin out vs UConn. Be awful hard to win 4 in 4 days. So first rd bye is critical IMO.

We would be better off as the 6 imo. Stay away from SMU and a Larry Brown at all costs

RE: Are we a 5 or 6 seed?
I want to win Sunday because that would be really exciting. A nice road win on a solid opponents senior day.

Should we win...end up with the five seed, that means likely a rematch with Cindy and then likely SMU. A loss possibly means playing USF or Houston, then likely Temple then likely Tulsa or UConn in the semis should our kids get last that game.

All are good teams...but if given the choice, would prefer Tulsa and Temple to ct, Cindy and SMU. But...want to win tomorrow regardless of the bracket set up.

As pointed out above, even if we lose tomorrow, that won't put us in the 6 spot, unless UConn wins at Temple, which seems unlikely.
