Beer-Bike info for alumni!
Check this out: a comprehensive web page for alums about Beer-Bike and related events:
http://alumni.rice.edu/2015beerbike

In addition to Saturday's events, the webpage includes college events on Friday (McMurtry in particular seems to have a nice slate of things lined up) and a general meet-up at the Volcanno.

This is awesome! I understand that it is the result of some really good idea-sharing between the student coordinators, a committee of alumni volunteers, and the Alumni Affairs staff. And knowing several of the key people involved, I feel confident that this is a precursor of more good things to come.

Heads up on some significant changes.

Alumni tent requires $10 entrance fee (boy do I hope they take credit cards), and Rice is explicitly baring alumni from colleges in the early morning period. Not that a lot of alumni venture towards the colleges in the morning, but the website states "Please note: In the spirit of Willy Week and Rice traditions, Saturday morning events at the residential colleges are reserved for students only."

hmmm - - well, now I'm very curious about how many alumni have been "crashing the party" and in what bothersome ways?

I'm out of touch, but I was under the impression that the morning was basically just one big, mass water-balloon fight, where everybody's just soaking each other face-to-face....

I do not want to get in a water balloon fight, so I think the Alumni tent would be more fun. There is a Rice-Southern Miss baseball game at 2 that afternoon so I will go by there after the Beer-Bike.

Before the water balloon fight, there is some partying going on at the colleges starting very early in the morning
