As a true expansion candidate: I vote for Charlie's Angels. They can have my back and front for that matter, any time. 04-cheers

The only schools that I would add to the AAC are BYU,AirForce Academy,Army, or Colorado State . No one from CUSA but Rice and definitely no one from the Sunbelt or MAC.

Feel free to rescue Toledo from he MAC. Having to watch games against teams like Eastern Michigan and Kent State is dreadful.

Air Force and Colorado State ...two of the original "Gang of 5" in the Mountain West

This would be a huge win for the American conference

RE: Top 5 AAC Expansion Candidates
1. BYU (Don't think BYU is interested)
2. Boise State (Boise State might be interested with how crappy the MWC is and the AAC looking like a good league)
3. Air Force (Same as Boise State, could be paired with Boise State if they wanted to go to 14, would work well with Navy and if Army came along)
4. Army (Would work great as football only, could be paired with Air Force to get to 14 if AAC wanted to expand)
5. Marshall (Would make sense as Marshall has been a good football school lately, decent size stadium, good regional get)
Other Schools (that make sense): Southern Miss, Toledo, Northern Illinois, SDSU

Realistically though, I don't see the AAC expanding or getting rid of Tulane and/or Tulsa.

I think Army or Air Force for football only would be a nice get.

Please no Sunbelt or CUSA members except maybe Rice. These schools would in my opinion degrade the value of the AAC. Bring on BYU,Colorado State,Army or Air Force.

RE: Top 5 AAC Expansion Candidates
I don't see the big hoopla with Colorado State at all, because they're in the Denver market? They're building a new stadium that's nice? They're a mediocre to decent program in a decent market. They might be a better get than Marshall, I suppose.

Air Force & BYU or Air Force & Army would make a lot of sense. I don't see any team outside of Boise State, BYU, and MAYBE Air Force bringing much value to the conference.

No one wants Marshall,in Hicksville, or any CUSA,MAC or Sunbelt members other than possibly Rice if Houston does not black ball them. Two problems Houston does not like them and would be a duplicate Houston market team. . Positives a top ten academic university, beautiful campus and athletic facilities, large endowment in a great part of town.

The only conference that's really discussed for #6 right now is the MWC. Other conferences (the MAC) have good years sometimes now and then, but not sustained. I think if the AAC lost 2 teams, that gap would be really tight between AAC/MWC. It would make sense for the AAC to try to take teams directly from the MWC to weaken it at the same time as strengthening themselves.
