Should be mostly sleet and snow from here on out so icing on the trees shouldn't be a major issue.

A lot of sleet so far, but not much freezing rain that I've seen. Gonna still be a long night.

That system is moving so slowly and now turning to snow. Weather.com shows the snow lasting until around 8 am, and they are now saying 5-8" snow. My dogs will have a blast if that happens. I'm prepared for anything short term including outages, but i hate when the electricity goes out, so hopefully that don't happen. I got less than half inch so far, but it's sticking now.

Still shows 1 - 3 inches as far as I can tell.

They been changing that forecast a lot, and now it's 3-5" and possibly ending a little earlier. I'm thinking they just aren't totally sure, but we are going to get something. Not doing much here right now.

I need to record that if it happens, my dogs would love it. Mine's all ice so far.

Changing forecasts like that are more than likely from a single model that is feeding directly into the weather app or webpage. The best I can tell, from listening/reading info from the folks at Memphisweather.net, there are always going to be outliers in the various models which accounts for some of the crazy forecast amounts found in weather apps. The most accurate forecasts are ones that involve an actual meteorologist reviewing several different models, weeding out the outliers, and then providing a most likely scenario forecast. I think a lot if the weather apps out there are just dependent on one particular forecast model so each time a new model is run, the forecast is updated automatically with no one reviewing it against other models to say "hey this thing is saying 6 inches when all others are saying 1-2, something is off here".
