RE: 2016 Football Recruiting
Our top 2 QBs are upperclassmen, and our 2014 QB recruit (Jones) is no longer at Rice. We very much need to sign a QB in the 2016 class.

Glaesmann looks good on video, particularly for a guy who hasn't played much yet.

RE: 2016 Football Recruiting
I am a little disappointed in the recruiting this year. All the players are 2 star. We won three straight bowl games and seem like the quality of recruits has not significantly improved. I do not put much faith in the "star" system but I would hope we would have a chance of more 3 star or even 4 star recruits as a result of our past success.

Searched for "Rice committed" on twitter and it looks like offensive lineman Myles Adams from Mansfield Summit High School in Arlington is the commit.

edit: confirmed by Stephanie Kuzydym tweet, though she called him a DT.

Plays with a mean streak on both sides of the ball. Nimble for a big'un. Uses his hands well.

I like him at Center, although I certainly understand that we need good players on defense. Still, his blocking and mobility are very good. I love his effort to not only engage his primary block, but to get up to the second level when possible.

Do we have another center behind Stanley? Wouldn't mind giving this guy a redshirt year and have him next up at center.

Trey Martin is a year behind Stanley. I am unaware as to who else the staff could be evaluating as a potential center? Klinger maybe?

Rice with another CB commit tonight, Collin Whitaker. Stephanie K announcing it on twitter following Coach Bailiff's #hootnholler. Rice Rivals site is completely worthless right now. A half-informed fan would be more effective. Really miss Moondog's coverage at Rivals. Anyone know how to cancel a Rivals subscription online? I have looked and haven't been able to figure it out...

the rivals guy is worthless. I let my subscription expire, which hurts the Rice "numbers" on rivals but if they want our business they should provide a decent product.

I couldn't find a way last year. Fortunately my CC Exp date rolled over so the card they have is worthless (like the site itself)....still getting emails to update the card03-lmfao

Anyone know how the reporters are picked? I still don't know what Rivals problem with Moondog was.

To cancel, click on "Contact". Then, click on "Subscription Services". Then click on the "Help" option. Then, click on "Billing". Then, click "Cancelling Subscription". That will give you the toll free number you must call. I think I got that more or less right. It's just that easy! The number is 18662748257.

RE: 2016 Football Recruiting
You have to make a telephone call to cancel or keep automatic re-subscription from happening. I cancelled my subscription also as I figured the Owl Club could certainly use $100 more than Rivals. The website navigation is convoluted, but the pertinent message is:

"Call Us

To cancel a subscription, inquire about a refund or if you are having trouble purchasing a Rivals.com subscription, you'll need to call our toll-free number, 1-866-2-RIVALS in order to receive assistance. We are here Mon-Fri from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

Please Note: Rivals.com does not refund for unused portions of subscriptions. When you cancel your subscription, you will continue to have access until the end of your current subscription term. Please review our terms of service before calling for a refund.

Return to Help Your estimated time to answer is currently less than 5 minutes"

Hope this helps.

Where, o where could we find such a person? I can fill in until you find somebody at that level. But only until September.

That's a lot of Defensive Backs over the past three recruiting cycles.

Powell didn't even bother to show up at the spring game. Said he was busy. I'm torn; recruits supposedly read the Rivals board quite a bit, so we may be counter productive in resigning. Maybe I'll call the Rivals number posted above and complain. I suspect Powell doesn't get paid jack squat, and that's the main reason for his lack of motivation. Certainly the subscription base wouldn't afford much in the way of salary (so here comes the inevitable death spiral). Maybe we can also talk to Moondog and see what he suggests. I'll give him a shout, since there's not much else to do.
