Not only will the Cubs not have Bleachers ready for opening day; depending on weather they may not be complete till Mid May. Why this organization could not swallow it's pride and work out a deal with the White Sox (Jerry Reinsdorf) to play the first 3 months of the 15 at US Cellular is beyond dumb. They will have to refund big$ to season ticket holders who have paid for seats they can't occupy and this is a situation they should have known would happen.

When the new Yankee Stadium was being constructed how did the Yankees work around it. Any Rutgers fans familiar with how that was resolved.

The Yankees and the Mets both opened up new stadiums in 2009. They were both smart about it. They built new stadiums next to the old ones and intentionally had 2 years to do it. The stadiums were done well before spring training 2009 even started, so when opening day rolled around it was seamless.

Planning construction in advance and completing it on time, what a concept. Too bad that doesn't happen often in metro Chicago. There are plenty of arenas/venues here but they are either in locations not accessible to public transit ( Sears Center, Huskie Stadium, COnvo Center, The Odeum) are too large for the teams that play there or have seats that are too small for anyone more than 110 lb to sit in comfortably (All State Arena). venues that are too small for the teams that play there (Soldier Field, smallest NFL stadium in the 2nd largest NFL market!)

When the old Yankees stadium was being renovated in the mid 70's the Yankees played at Shea Stadium for 2 years.

Doesn't happen too often in NY/NJ either, although its gotten noticeably better with particularly North Jersey road projects and private sector construction. In some ways the rail system in Chicago is more confusing than New York. The L is fairly straightforward, but the commuter/regional rail system is very confusing to me.
