Spring Football Practice
Should have a prospectus soon. Looking to see how the newcomers fit and hopefully updated weights to see how the strength programs has come along.

RE: Spring Football Practice
Some keys will be who will be the main running back? I'm surprised that CC has mentioned Lewis, Jackson has been fumble prone.

Offensive line-progress?

QB is there actually an open competition between Roback and Bell or not?

Agree with your questions. Interested in seeing how the redshirt freshman fit in at RB. Erickson and Vann.

I certainly hope that the QB position is up for grabs. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think Roback is a more polished QB that will perform more consistently. Reggie also has potential but struggled with turnovers and getting knocked in the head last year. I'd like to see the coaches find a way to get both of them on the field at the same time.

Here's the current roster off the website:

Interesting some players have had no weight game since the end of the season, some has lost some weight and some have added.

I don't much about strength and conditioning I can see losing weight to gain speed for example, but I agree with you about Lion King, 6'4, 205 is not great size for a Div I defensive lineman.

Or LB either.

Some players do not gain muscle mass easily.

Anyone think Timmy Bond will mass up to say 200?? Very, very, very unlikely that he can.

They must've updated what you're looking at as Lion King is now listed at 229.

RE: Spring Football Practice
Interesting, last years true freshmen DL put on some weight but all the veterans are down weight.
Pat O'Connor looks to be about 20 pounds lighter.

I was at practice this morning. Should have specifically looked at the OL. I didn't see the huge guts of last year.

I think the OL line will be lighter for zone blocking.

RE: Spring Football Practice
Yes they updated the information, note that Zappone lost about 20 pounds and Dunlap lost a lot of weight as well.

I believe the first 'scrimmage' is tomorrow.

I went to practice Saturday. Little bit of everything. I liked the one on one 'competition' or drills for OL/DL, real gladiator type stuff (these drills are the ones which lead to fights in practices).
