Cuse Clinches Attendance Crown Again
Big enough lead now, even UK can't cheat their way to the win.

Cuse averaged 23,854
UK with another record crowd vs FL can only get to 23,571

UK will pack 30-35,000 in. Whatever it takes to win.

Well if they hired 5k homeless to work in the arena...that would win it. UK would never do that.

How naive, Mark. UK can always cheat their way to win. All they have to do is go back and revise attendance numbers from previous games and/or revise their new gym capacity and their definition of "in attendance" and/or "human being."

Congratulations! 04-cheers

But, IMO what matters much more is ticket revenue. E.g., if Cuse is averaging 24k, but the average ticket price is $15, while UK is pulling in 23k with an average price of $50, well, UK's attendance is actually far more impressive.

I don't know if that's the case, but to me its the $$$ that matter, not the butts in the seats, which can be filled with giveaways, etc.

It isn't the case...folks sitting 100 yards away are paying $40 or so.

I realize this is about basketball. It should be noted that UK has experience cooking attendance numbers:

Lexington Herald-Leader

After they were called out about this they simply stopped announcing attendance:

Lexington Herald-Leader

Ironically it did not stop UK from announcing an attendance increase last month.

UK Athletics

Never think that UK is above anything when it comes to reporting attendance.

I have no love for UK these days, but I find it interesting how some with scandals on their school's recent resumes find a way to point out how UK are a bunch cheats. Have not been caught recently in my mind.

03-yawn UK has perfected cheating and gaming the system.

Cuse has had an 8 year investigation and it looks to involve basic mismanagement.

Is that a Memphis fan criticizing others about scandals? How ironic.
Or are you a WV fan, who's fb program is currently in trouble with the NCAA?

Congrats. They should put up a banner. It's the only prize Syracuse will win this season.

Considering Syracuse is out of the running for the ACC regular season title and not competing in the ACC tournament or any other post-season tournament, I'm pretty certain they won't be winning any other trophies this season. Maybe a few players will win some individual honors, but that's the best they can do.

And no, I am not a UK fan. I put Tigers and Wildcats in my profile way back when I first created the account to be intentionally vague.

That Wildcat fan is very out-of-line. Syracuse has won LOTS of things this year. Let's list them!

1) 3rd place in the prestigous 2K-Classic tournament.

2) Syracuse beat Colgate, so they can claim to be the best basketball team in the "greater Onondoaga-Madison county region."

3) That ever-important "highest attendance in D1 Basketball."

BTW, considering Cuse is #1 in Men's Lacrosse I think they have a decent chance of another championship this year.
