How does this work? As a walk on you don't get a scholarship but can you earn one later on? Also, back in the old days, I thought any student could walk on and if they looked OK, we kept them as a walk on player. But, what this looks like is that we invite players to walk on. So, does that mean we actually recruit walk ons now and the other students who want to walk on, really can't unless invited to do so? How many invited walk ons can we take? Just curious. This is something I know very little about.
Think I remember seeing where he did. I just started this as a catch all thread and will go back when I have more time to consolidate previously mentioned walk ons here. Not sure if he's PWO or scholarship...seems like there was some debate at the time of signing. Maybe somebody in the know can chime in.

I thought he was a preferred walk on. I really think he can be our tight end of the future.

I thought that too. I also wonder if the coaches know by now if any of the signees are not likely to qualify? Best of the rest available scenario? But, it seems just as likely they'd give a scholly to one of the PWOs in that case. Who knows?
