Tulane baseball RPI ranking 17th in nation
on Warren Nolan's rating website. Tulane defeated the University of New Orleans twice midweek and then took the series 2-1 from Creighton over the weekend. The Green Wave is off to a 10-2 start. I expect Tulane will get more votes in the top 25 poll. The AAC basEball coaches in a pre season vote expected that Tulane would be at the bottom of the conference,a joke. Under new head Coach David Pierce Tulane is back! Look out Houston,Central Florida and East Carolina. I wish Rice baseball could move to the AAC.

UCF isn't far behind Tulane in Nolan's rankings at #30. Ole Miss, the team we just won two of three against this weekend, is #1 in RPI on that list. That series win did wonders for us. It'll certainly be even more of an RPI boost if we can get one or two wins against the Gators in our midweek games coming up.

This is turning out to be a much stronger baseball conference than I expected it to be, a couple of years ago.

Well, when we stop and think about it, it's not all that surprising. Tulane, ECU, Houston, were all good CUSA baseball schools that made the move. UCF wasn't very good in CUSA, but we were a historically good program prior to that in the A-Sun, and we seemed to have found some of that again. UConn was a Super Regional team in 2011, so we know they are capable. Until their recent hard times, USF has historically been pretty solid. Most of the schools that made Big East baseball kinda weak are, well, still in the Big East. It's not the SEC or ACC, but there are good programs in this league.

All AAC teams will benefit this year since Temple disbanded their program as Temple's RPI last year was 226.
So no conf games vs Temple this year for AAC teams should help 3 RPI killer games off your schedule.

Tulane moves into D1Baseball rankings this week at #25. Others in the conference: #9 UCF, #16 Houston. Solid baseball conference!

I stand corrected on UCF jumping into the top 10. Not sure how they jumped Mississippi State, Texas Tech, and A&M, who all went undefeated last week, but it's awesome that an AAC team is getting that kind of respect.
Good to see the Wave enter the top 25. Now, we need ECU and/or USF to keep winning, and start getting votes, as well.

Yeah, tough series. A 1-1 split would be great. A 2-0 sweep, f*ck it, UCF has my vote for #1 in the country.
We have LSU and A&M this weekend, too, so it's about to get real.

Our conference rpi literally moved from #2 to #8 in 3 days. Yes we need to get 2-4 more weeks before it stabilizes.

I get that it's early but there is still something wrong with the formula, particularly putting soooo much weight on away game match-ups. I mean Ole Miss has no business being #1.

At least for A&M, it's probably because they haven't played anyone particularly difficult yet. Their first big test is Houston this weekend.

Yeah I don't understand how a team that's 6-4 can be #1, especially after losing a weekend series 2-1.

I may be in the minority, but I'm for bringing in baseball only schools to help bolster our profile and give us a balanced schedule. Dallas Baptist and Rice come to mind.

Tulane baseball moved into the Top 25 as number 25 today in the D1 poll. Central Florida now 9 and Houston 16. Great news for our conference! Hopefully East Carolina will get there shortly as we have had great series with them over the years!
