No one is winning 5 games in a row in the MAC tourney. If, NIU did which they won't, they would be a 15 seed not 16.

A WMU fan was yelling that they were getting screwed on fouls. I said, you got more than us at your place. He said that's because you guys are bad. I said, if we are bad then you guys are 4 pts better than bad. After the game, I yelled, we will kick your ass again in the tourney and the fall!

Oh come on now? Just because it took us ALL of the 2011-12 Season to win 5*?

*5th win was an upset of EMU in the opening round of MAC T-ment.

The officiating was bad and inconsistent last night...both ways. Collegiate officiating is getting so so so so bad. Why is this the case?

It's hard because like it or not, college basketball players IMO, aren't that great at basketball. There certainly are some superstars (a few), but most of the time it just looks like chaos to me. Has to be a tough job to try and keep control of the chaos.

In the NBA rules are not really enforced which makes it easier to officiate, its more of an exhibition of athleticism than any competition. Thus, rules are not as important which probably makes it easier. I just am alarmed at how inconsistent games are called from game to game lately, and also the fact there seems to be a philosophy "when it doubt blow the whistle". Officials have to stop anticipating calls.

I only worry that NIU may have caught some teams napping, particularly Toledo and CMU. In tournament play you know you get everyone's best shot. It would be extremely anomalous for a team at NIU's record to make a deep run in the tourney. They have played their best basketball late, but the thing that makes me think their life will be short is health. Rak and Bowie playing at 50 percent does not bode well.
