RE: Thank You Huskies!!!!
Several of these teams used to be in the Missouri Valley conference together. Like that conference, on any given night a team could knock off another team in an unexpected manner. This season has been one of those in the American, where it seems that this can occur as well. Certainly an exciting end to the regular season.

My true colors: I don't like SMU. There. It's been said.

We get it. You don't like SMU.

I'm sure seeing this burns your biscuits.

Back in the late 50s/early 60's the MVC was one of the better conferences in the nation.

Though this conference still gets no respect nationally in basketball, I think there is potential for the AAC to evolve into something pretty special. For one thing, I see some tense rivalries brewing; just needs some time.

However, today's UCONN win doesn't mean anything for Tulsa. Unless we pull the upset next Sunday at Moody, SMU will win the conference title. SMU is still in the driver's seat.

ummm, this loss by SMU meant a lot to Tulsa, now, if you beat Cincy at home, you are guaranteed at least a share of the title and a win in Dallas gives it to you outright.

Not sure how you think it didn't matter...

/cheers though

Before SMU lost to UCONN, the winner of the SMU-Tulsa game would be the AAC champion & get the #1 seed in the AAC tournament. After SMU lost to UCONN, the winner of the SMU-Tulsa game will be the AAC Champion & get the #1 seed in the AAC tournament. That's why I don't think it mean anything to Tulsa.

I guess it does mean that IF we beat Cincinnati on Wednesday night, we will get a share of the conference title win or lose on Sunday. However, the winner of Sunday's game will be the #1 seed in the AAC tournament & will be considered the real conference champ.

We actually both control our destiny.

We do both control our destiny. However, SMU, playing at home, playing a team it already beat on the road, is in the driver's seat. It doesn't mean we can't win the game, but SMU will be a 7-8 point favorite.

Yeah no need to throw stones at Pony. They owned TU in their own house a few weeks ago. Also, no need to talk trash about SMU when Cincy is the next obstacle. TU controls their own destiny heading into the final week. TU fan cannot ask for much more out of a team picked 5th preseason!

Go TU!

Great win for Husky today, I would not want to be on their side of the bracket.

I think SMU wins next weekend and takes the regular season championship.

And I think the tournament in Hartford is going to be a blast.

Lol, I do think he's a bit of a traitor. But, anyone who wears sweatpants in public already shouldn't be allowed to make their own decisions anymore anyways. He knows not what he's done. I'm rather sure they didn't pay for those seats as well.

In other news... I like the sima chi shirt on the end. It's the only redeeming thing the picture has going for it.

Temple fell down to Palm's first four out. Looks like Tulsa being temporarily off the bubble is at their expense.

So I don't think we'll be allowed more than three seeds at this point. If things wind up as is, an upset tourney winner looks like they'd drop Tulsa or Cinci out.

The AAC needs help with more bubble losses outside our conference...

I agree Junkie. The selection committee says that they don't pick certain #s per conference, but I think that is a factor. This may be especially true with our conference championship game on Selection Sunday.

RE: Thank You Huskies!!!!
Temple lost fair and square to Tulsa because they couldn't hit a basket if their life depended on it but got hosed by the refs in their most recent loss to SMU....Temple played their style of defense and got taken out of the game early while SMU was allowed to hand check and use body checks all game without a worry of being called. That being said I'm glad they received a well deserved loss....here is to hoping refs do not determine the outcome for all remaining American games including the AAC tournament :)
