Houston AAU
Has anyone else ever wondered why we haven't gotten a player Pastners dad's AAU program in Houston? With its success I am surprised one has it been sent our way

Their better players get offers from Big 12-Pac 12 schools, schools those kids grew up watching.

Nothing negative here

That makes sense. I just thought dad might help him out instead of us having to raid the junior college cupboard

I really wanted Daniel House coming out if high school. He and the Young kid. I understood Young going to his dad's alma mater but Man I wanted House. He has since left UH and is now killing it at TxA&M.

Yeah we have missed on some big players over the years and had openings late. It doesnt make sense that an aau program with that quality players didnt have anyone who could help us in 5 years. I understand players having preferences but we have always had available scholarships except for the Jarnell deal but thats a hole other topic

The more interesting thing about recruiting & the B12 is why schools like Iowa St & Kansas St (you can probably add OK, OK St, WVU, TT, TCU too) seem to have much better talent than we do. And most of their players were 3* level recruits. JP goes after the 5* players, loses & then settles for JC guys. Why not take the more reliable B12 approach & develop some talent?

The ability of most AAU coaches to influence recruiting is grossly overstated

Trust me

You act like this has been going on since Josh got here. His 2014-15 class is the only time that has happened. For whatever reason it ended up this way he got lopsided on his numbers and at the same time did not get the players he wanted. He filled in with what he could find.

Ordinarily I would not say those schools are vastly more talented than we are. I do think they have had better and more big men and maybe that one talented player that makes a difference over our go to guy. Can't argue about this year.
