This is setting up for a fizzled out finish to the year.
JMU tries to use some new looks against Hofstra tomorrow in the event that NE chokes and loses to last place CoC.
It all goes for naught as NE ends up winning and the Dukes are relegated to the 4/5 game against Hofstra next Saturday.
With no aces up his sleeve, Brady goes one and done in Baltimore.

If you're counting on "new looks" at this point of the season, you're as good as done.
Give them your best game and hopefully beat them again. Let them think about losing to you twice going into the tourney.

I think you are overestimating the strategy of it. There are no tricks- it's about fundamentals and execution. JMU and Hofstra will both try to play their games and execute their game plans. The fact that they may play one another a week later will have no relevance to each coaches' strategy. Thats just for fans to speculate on. When JMU beat Hofstra on Long Island Hofstra got cold shooting from outside while JMU primarily played a zone but did a good job of getting defensive rebounds. I think today's Dukes favor more man to man but the key will remain limiting Hofstra to one shot per possession.

Hofstra is an interesting team. Statistically they are good offensively. Having watched them play a few times I think their PG (Bernanti) while he can shoot from 3 is at best a fair defender and ball handler. Good wings but not much inside. Kone is an active body on the glass but doesn't have much of an offensive game and their only big guy is a young Lithuianian who misses a lot of chip shots inside (sound a little familiar?). They seem to fall in love with the 3 ball even though they have the ability to drive to the hole and get baskets. The player on their team who is the X factor is Malik Nichols a 6-6 Junior. He kind of plays like Nation when he was a Freshman. Very active on defense creating turnovers, explosive, can get to the rim but he seems to play markedly better at Home than on the road.

Should be a good crowd today with Reading Day and the final game. Game is on TV as well. Looking forward to it. No matter what the game plan implications are you'd have to favor JMU over Hofstra if they win and sweep them in the regular season if they meet again in Baltimore.

Most of the games we've lost this year were lost in the first 7 minutes or so. It seems like the good teams get a jump on us and we never really get back into the game. We had a surge at Wilmington (I think it was a 10-0 run) but then they just put the kibosh on that we fizzled away.

Yep....they're showing Drexel-W&M right now...that Wilson kid who was hitting every shot in the gym at the end of our recent game with them has hit four 3's in the first half....Drexel up 33-21 1:31 to go in 1st half
