RE: Football Schedule Released Today
LOL you guys. Well it looks exciting to me. Every nonconference game is winnable and 3 are at home. If we must play at Schuemann it's good to get it out of the way early. Only one of our home games is on a Tuesday and it's NIU which we knew would be on a weeknight anyway because when has it ever not been. Liking how the last 2 are high leverage games at BG and hosting Western. Love that Western gets the whole season to become flavor of the week darlings just to leave our house with their heads held low. Hope it snows on 'em too.

3 TUESDAY GAMES IN NOVEMBER??????

This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!

Not crazy about the MAC or bending down to the scheduling lunacy of ESPN. But really what other options does UT have? Alienating ourselves more from UT athletics will surely send Toledo down the FCS route.

I kind of like the Western game on that Friday night. It might be for the MAC west and though it will be cold as hell, no reason not to have a good crowd at the GB.

Wow. That's harsh. If you're fortunate you will one day be an aging retiree. Getting old doesn't mean your life is all but over.

Still amazed at the number of posters that do not recognize H2O's sarcasm, in this case directed at himself...

RE: Football Schedule Released Today
I like the 3 home games in September, then 2 in mid-Oct, then 1 the 1st week of Nov (although I hate the Tuesday). So, if we don't have another monsoon season, we'll really only have 1 home game where the weather can be expected to be uncomfortable, and that's Western on 11/27.

The key here is what came AFTER "anyway".

Getting much easier to justify just sitting in front of the TV at home, staying warm, and getting a lot more sleep for work the next day. What a travesty for the local Rockets fan base. Don't need to worry about expanding the Glass Bowl's capacity anytime soon.

I've given up on trying to get the same level of excitement for games. Our rival game is on Tuesday night in Bowling Green in November. The game for the championship has always been played on a Tuesday or Wednesday night for the last several years (ie vs. NIU) and it is difficult to justify an hour and a half drive each way for an 8pm kick-off and endure stupid coaching decisions, TV time-outs and freezing weather. BBW get's my game time dollars now.

I've wondered the same thing - has anyone gone through to justify this type of exposure. I thought this would go away after the first 10 year contract, but didn't they (the MAC) just sign on again for another 10 years with ESPN?

I have to say, I'm more excited about the upcoming Buckeye season than I am the Rocket's season. At least I can watch the full game if I want to. I'm usually DVR'ing the Rocket's game and watching the end of it the next morning before going to work. That is just a great fan experience.

Buckeye season IS an exciting time. My daughter and I go down the street and collect a bunch of them from my neighbor's tree. Sometimes I find a really nice burl I can use for scales on my knives. Then, at night, I go watch Toledo football.

That's an excellent point.
