Utep bigs are great but utep didn't run the O through them which is crazy. Why did the miners try to run with tech? Lang should have gotten the ball in deep every possession until tech stopped it. Lang was impressive.

Or we could borrow a couple of your big guys - Lang alone would probably do it for us 04-cheers

If LA Tech had Lang, the Dawgs would run away with this conference. That kid (Lang) handles a basketball as well as any BIG man I've seen in a long time. He's an excellent player.

He's improved a lot from last year. Even his free throws are going in more. His stock for the Nba has definitely gone up. As far as Wash and Vince not so much. Vince still can't make a ft or a layup and Wash can't be consistent in his shooting.

I said it a while back, Lang is what keeps UTEP going - that guy plays with heart.

That was the first thing I noticed about Lang was his ability to play with the basketball. Heck of a big man to have ball control skills like he does.

Lang is one of the only players that has improved every year since he's been here. Why we don't utilize him more often is beyond me.

RE: If Utep had Lat Tech Guards
One of the issues that we've have against Tech is that it looks as if we're just happy to get it across half court. We only committed 7 turnovers in the game. Some might say that's good. Yes and no. If you have 15 turnovers and most of them at half court leading to easy points, yeah that's definitely not good. However, it's a good sign if you get most of them attacking after you beak the press. 7 turnovers tells me that we just weren't aggressive. This isn't a knock on Lang, but he's not going to get the ball at midcourt and take it to the rim. It's just not his skill set. Ideally, Hunter would be the guy breaking the press. He has that skill set. But, as we've seen with him either picking up charges or forcing it through 3 players, I don't think anyone has any confidence in him making the correct decision on the back end.

What you say is true. However, I was very surprised to see Lang bring the ball across mid court a couple of times (yes, a 6'10 guy had to bring the ball across). I think that was a sign of weak guard play.

Lang also had a couple of very impressive drives to the basket from out near the top of the key at the 3-point line. That's when I noticed his ball handling skills. Very impressive.
