Can we get to #3
UC 10-5 Tulane(A), Tulsa(A), Memphis(H)

Temple 10-5 UH(H), ECU(A), UConn(H)

Memphis 9-5 SMU(H), Tulsa(H), UConn(A), UC(A)

UConn 9-6 SMU(H), Memphis(H), Temple(A)

Order of difficulty:

1. UConn already one down playing #1 tonight
2. Memphis playing 1 & 2
3. UC
4. Temple worst case they lose at UConn for 12-6

Memphis could lose out with that schedule. I do not think they are factor.

Tulsa at Memphis will be interesting this weekend, too. If Memphis is able to win at home, that would leave Tulsa with three losses and games against UC and at SMU remaining.

We might not want to, that might constitute a game with UCONN.

True because it's 6 v 11 and that winner plays 3.

We are currently the 3. We hold the tie breaker over Temple.

Idealy we end up 3rd and don't have to face UCONN, if I had the option to face UCONN or finish 4th and get another shot at SMU I'd take that happily. I think we match up very well with SMU and a loss to them does nothing to hurt our RPI unlike a loss to most of the rest of this conference (Please get us out of here asap)

Not according to ESPN on SMU v Memphis game.

Memphis now 9-6, UConn 9-6

Temple and UC at 10-5

I am seeing:
Temple #3
UC #4
UConn #5
Memphis #6

I would prefer Memphis #5 and UConn #6

Playing UConn in first game UC 1 and done.

Temple won today, so they are 11-5. But if we finish tied with them, I'm pretty sure we will hold the tie breaker by virtue of beating SMU twice while Temple lost both games to them.

Sure, playing UConn first in the tourney isn't ideal - but it's not like their this year's UK. We played them tough in their own arena, and, frankly, should have won. I'm not that worried.

Agree. Plus they will be coming off playing the day before. Sure it is at their place, but I felt like we handed them that game and the conference tourney isn't as big a home court advantage as playing them during the regular season, although it is still a nice advantage. I want to finish as high as possible, even though standards are not supposed to matter to the NCAA committee, it never hurts to look better in the standings.

Yes, we will win the tiebreaker if we both finish with 5 losses. It's not for sure we would win the tiebreaker if we both finish with 6 losses though.

It's also not THAT big of a stretch to get the 2 seed. I have been sticking up for Tulsa all year, but their last 3 games are all losable games. If we beat them h2h it can happen.

Not if Uconn is the 5 and UC the 4. They'd be each other's first round match. 6 thru 11 play opening round. 1-5 get byes.

That said, this team has proven it can play with and beat Uconn. There isn't a gimme for too seeds except probably the top 2 seeds. The top 6 really are not terribly different to me at this point.

Only thing to worry about or rather focus on is beat Tulane. Nothing else matters right now. Take care of the only thing you can take care of right now. The next game.

As for NCAAs I still like UCs wins, their top 25 and top 50 records. I'd be sweating more as Tulsa. A d2 loss. And only temple as top 50 wins.

There are a lot of games they should have won. Depends on how they decide to play on said night. I give them a 50/50 chance to win.

RE: Can we get to #3
There are some RPI advantages if UC does play UConn. According RPI Wizard on rpiforecast.com beating Tulane and Memphis and losing to at Tulsa and at UConn leaves UC with an RPI in the mid to low 40's. Beating Tulane, Memphis, and UConn while losing to Tulsa and SMU/Tulsa in the second leaves UC with an RPI of in the mid 30's. Losing to Memphis on a neutral court hurts the RPI more than a road loss at UConn would, while beating UConn in Hartford would provide a bigger reward.

Winning the next three games locks up a bid regardless of the conference tournament because the Cats will have at worst an RPI around the mid 30's. Win two out of three and loss to Memphis, UC is looking at an RPI closer to 50.

While the RPI isn't what it used to be I would rather have an RPI at around 44 than over 50. Selection committee doesn't usually pick too many schools with RPI's in the 50's or 60's.

Starts tomorrow. Lose to Tulane twice and the only way to get in is with a crazy run in two weeks.

How about they just win out and win the conference tournament. When was the last time UC won a conference tournament? 2004?

Based on last two in being the first two 12 seeds, 46 bids are left after mid major one bid leagues. So 50snot necessarily terrible. Now of course tourney upsets can cut down on the available bids.

Some teams ahead of UC that don't have the things committee sees. Record against top 25/50. UC does have more good wins than several teams ahead of them in rpi. For instance Texas...1-10 against top 50? Others are 2-7 or 1-4 etc.

ECU and Tulane losses put UC on bubble but should be right side come SS if they don't collapse these next two weeks.

So long ago that we beat DePaul in the final.

Agree, but what level collapse are we talking? 2-2?
