Absolutely horrific situation here in Louisville..basically a Warrent for his arrest for Rape and Sodomy on two different women on the same day.

It was the Joe Jackson vs Chris Jones thing. JJ was the easy pick and he never caused any problems except playing time.

CJ was a train wreck who was a very good player. I think people were pulling for him at UL and it seemed he had gotten it together. Dude had a hard life, but it's about to get harder for him and his victims.

Right --- Jackson and Jones really couldn't play on the same team. The dislike dated back to their high school games. Jackson was always thought of as the better character guy but Jones, at least coming out of high school, was considered the better player by quite a few. And by "character" I don't mean this level of alleged behavior -- much more minor, sort of a real coaching headache type.

Very sad. I feel sorry for all those involved, including Card fans who must be reeling from this tragic news.

Keith Easterwood his AAU coach is a special guest every Tuesday around 5:20 PM on the Gary Parrish Show on WMFS ESPN 92.9.

Keith who coached him from about age 13 on said & I'm paraphrasing that he & the other players knew Chris Jones was nuts.

I don't feel one bit sorry for Jones, but everybody else, yes, absolutely. I hate Loserville but this isn't on them, you can't anticipate that one of your players is a multiple felon. And the two women, man, that's awful.

However, the other side will insist that athletics is the only way many of the kids can escape their environments. As long as we have two valid sides arguing and making good points, the system that has been created will allow a few "Chris Jones" through each year. While I am in total agreement that our collegiate system is broken, the obvious answer will never be addressed and that is "to ensure that all athletes are students first" and not just in some archaic name such as "Student-Athlete".
