NIU primed for another MAC title

The Buzz: Northern Illinois has appeared in five consecutive MAC Championship games, winning three of them including last season’s 51-17 win over Bowling Green. The Huskies have won 57 games in those five seasons and were in the mix for a New Year’s Six bowl slot last season. Another run at a title is possibility, especially with a squad that returns 14 starters from a team that was second in the league in total offense last season. The biggest concern heading into this spring is at offensive line, which only returns two starters. The defensive side of the ball is much more experienced with eight starters from a unit that ranked No. 57 in the nation in total defense.

I think the MAC East is up for grabs. Any one of them could win the division. Even UMass.

If Johnson is healthy, it's BG's to lose.

Is UMASS even in the MAC this year?

Yes, people forget how good Johnson is and I agree with your assessment. It will also be Babers second year and he is a damn good coach.

Im afraid the BG bubble has burst. They are going to have one bad bad defense out there this year. They are going to have to put up video game offensive numbers to be a factor.
