Tonight's game is critical for Cincinnati. They must win this game in order to win the championship.

I will be at the game with the King of The Vibs. He is an expert on basketball.

I paid close attention to the initial game with the opponent. Here are the plays they will use.

A quick hitter from a 4 low set, that looks for 2 quick triple options before breaking down into a side pick and roll with kick out options if the initial looks aren't open.

Initial set up is a 4 low.

1 starts the action by dribbling to the wing and performing a dribble hand off with the ball side wing.

Timing is key with this play and 2 starts the cut as soon as 1 starts to dribble towards the wing.

As soon as the handoff, 1 continues through to set the screen.

2 cuts to the ball side corner looking for the catch and shoot triple off 3s pass.

If the triple wasn't on for 2, 3 continues their dribble. 4 and 5 then turn back and rescreen as 1 cuts through to the opposite corner.


If 1 catches and can't shot the triple then 2 clears, 4 screens for 5 who then screens on the ball whilst 3 relocates

If 3 can't make the pass to 1, then they perform a dribble hand off. 4 screens for 5 who flashes to the elbow. 2 relocates.

3 clears to the corner after the hand off, 5 runs the pick and roll whilst 4 and 2 spot up on the perimeter


Also, tomorrow I will have a meeting with the new Cincinnati woman's basketball coach. It will not be coach Larry.

Ohhhh, Duane may have just become my favorite banter character with this one... a slow spiral into insanity. Although the narcissistic, socially inept old guy is probably still numero uno.
