Not sure this was handled very well. At 6:30PM there wasn't anything on the UT website. It happened before noon.

As I was leaving Savage Arena about 30 minutes ago I was told that tomorrow's games would be a 5:30 and 8:00. The women go off first.

Not to pile on, and it's not the end of the world, and the water main break itself isn't something UT had control of...BUT I know enough about water breaks to say it's hard to believe that it wasn't clear a couple hours before the game that it just wasn't gonna happen. Even if the break can get fixed the lines still need to flush and, if there was a sprinkler or standpipe issue at Savage as a result they may even be required to run a test for proper pressure before allowing an assembly of people. I get wanting to wait til the last minute but the "last minute" in this case was probably closer to 4 PM than 6 PM. Probably some miscommunication. On to tomorrow!

Would have been nice to know at 4 that it was a no go. Saved us a trip.

No go for us tomorrow. Back up on Saturday I guess.

It looked like a mess on campus. We decided to go for margaritas instead. Turned out to be a good choice.

RE: Game cancelled
No way could you let several thousand people into the building with no facilities to "go"... Agree that they should have made the call before people were lined up waiting to get in.

On the other hand, the team didn't look bad, and didn't commit any turnovers......

RE: Game cancelled
Supposedly they couldn't get the water pressure back in the fire suppressant system to the fire departments standards. It's probably the reason they cancelled so late.

RE: Game cancelled
Postponing a late-February game is not desirable for any school or conference. Until being told there was a 0% chance of the facility being ready, the game was going to be played. Delaying a basketball game, even for a day, throws a wrench into a lot of things, so UT was going to wait as long as possible before postponing the game.
