In the women's shot put, Claire Uke absolutely DESTROYED the meet record with 17.95 meters (58' 10.75").

The men's team race is really interesting for the Owls. Right now, we are 22.5 points out of second place. The only event left is the heptathlon, and through 5 of 7 events, we are sitting on 21 points.

And no Miner is the Heptathlon. What are the chances that Pressley (5th after 5 events) can gain more than 55 points to move into 4th AND Norman (8th) can gain 75 points to get 7th ... which would give Rice 23 points for the event and 2nd place overall?

Yep! Regina's indoor record was 17.67m (57'-11.75"), set in 1986.

I screwed up. I totally forgot that the shot put is not done, and UTSA has a ton of points. Now, it's a three team race for 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Yep! Regina's indoor record was 17.67m (57'-11.75"), set in 1986.

And Claire even broke Regina's outdoor school record (17-7m / 58'-1"), also set in 1986. Wow!!

After the 6th event, pole vault, Ben Pressley fell from 3rd to 4th. The other places appear unchanged. That would be a net loss of 1 point.

Congratulations to Marielle Brisbois for winning the pole vault after two years off.

Also, Claire Uke has moved up to #2 on the NCAA list, just 4 centimeters out of 1st!!!

Bummer. UTSA got 1st, 2nd, 6th, and 7th in the shot put. We had 1st (Scott Filip), 3rd, 5th and 8th in the heptathlon.
