The Business Journals 2015 Public University Rankings
http://www.bizjournals.com/bizjournals/n...l?page=all

AAC Ranks:
19) University of Connecticut
63) University of South Florida
83) University of Central Florida
111) Temple University
127) East Carolina University
136) University of Houston
138) University of Cincinnati
200) University of Memphis

I'd say the AAC did well. All of our public schools are ranked. They stopped ranking after 250, and afterward they alphabetically listed the rest of the top 400.

Not typically a huge fan of rankings, but this was a pretty well encompassed ranking process, you can check out how they ranked here:

http://www.bizjournals.com/bizjournals/n...l?page=all

Took into account an average of all of the major rankings (Forbes, US News, Washington, etc.), employment and unemployment, research numbers, diversity, graduation and admission statistics, and some other stuff.

LOL I'm sorry, but some of us will likely need a bit more explanation here.

I'm surprised App is so high. Did something change in the past few years?

I take these rankings with a grain of salt regardless of what they say. I doubt that ALL public universities were equally considered in these rankings.

If I'm not mistaken, ASU has higher requirements for admission than any of the other state schools other that NCSU and UNC-CH. I was surprised that UNC-W was as high as they were but I suppose that their admission requirements are about the same as ASU.

Three National Championships in Football led to a ton of applications for admission.

No, it's absolutely not

Based on a quick google search that told me that West Chester has a substantially lower admission rate and higher average gpa, Id say statistically speaking it does appear to be harder to get into

UCONN applications up 9% this year. http://www.courant.com/politics/capitol-...story.html

Bucking the national trend...

It's not. West Chester is for people who didn't get into Temple, Pitt, and Penn State, and don't want to go to a CC or a branch campus.

Not to one-up you, but I'm pretty sure Cincinnati has done that for the last three years - up 10% yoyoy.

34,000 applications and only 3,500 spots available in Storrs. That's ridiculous.

Fortunately for me, it wasn't that competitive back in the early 1980's.

I would say you are exceedingly incorrect.

How does private Tulane University a member of the AAC rank against these public universities academically in the most respected and prestigious US News And World Report annual polls?
