Does HB 1897 shift the needle for Liberty
Lawmakers in VA have recently imposed limitations on public higher ed schools and athletics. As a private school, Liberty is not subject to this criteria. This athletic/student fee restriction creates a hardship for JMU, ODU and all public schools that receive more than 70% from student fees. Does this shift the needle for LU ahead for JMU for FBS ready?

If I remember correctly all schools have 5 years before needing to be compliant. That gives jmu allot of time. There's some real turmoil going on currently at JMU. The athletic budget is way to high and many fans/alumni are not happy about the direction and vision. The football team is a mess. Both offensive and defensive coordinators are fine. The def co left for a small college in Ohio. 3 players were recently suspended, another player left because his mom said he didn't get the needed help with acedimics.

JMU appears to be somewhat in an upheavel now with the HB (yes to the 5 years compliance), the players suspension, the anticipated 2015 Strategic Plan, and outright frustration in JMU leadership. Lots of anger and frustration with the athletic vision of the school with many posters stating the best opportunity may have come and gone for JMU to be FBS. Combine with the required decreasing 70% student fee (JMU is almost 79%), is reason for concern and uneasiness for the leadership of JMU.

I hope nothing but prosperity to JMU and ODU. I like keeping up with the ODU program.

I want those programs to succeed but not at Liberty's expense. I don't want to wish direct harm to them so I'll just leave it as I want Liberty to excel over those programs no matter how good they are.

Let's hope they win all their games, except when they play LU.
