Lunardi Bracketology Update: 2/23/15
It's Bubblicious:
6 SMU
10 Temple (Last Four Byes)
11. Cincinnati (Last Four Byes)
Tulsa (First Four Out)

With three teams teetering on the fence it's 'bubblicious' there for sure --- but with SMU under investigation for using an ineligible player the doubts for this season only increase.

Just curious...when Memphis beats Cincy for the second time this year, do we take their spot?

Lunardi hasn't given Tulsa any credit this season. He has Illinois (RPI 57), Purdue (RPI 59) and LSU (RPI 53) ahead of Tulsa. I think Palm is more accurate, though he did just freak out on Temple a little after getting blown out. His rankings are:
SMU 6
Cincinnati 9
Tulsa 11
Temple 12

Temple in as a win that helps our resume and ECU as a L that hurt us badly

Losing to RPI #185 Tulane at home hurts a lot more than losing a last shot game, to a top 40 RPI team IMHO.
Flip ECU and Tulane, and we're in decent shape.

I agree that Lundardi is very suspect. He has the B!0 with 8 teams. Not going to happen with Purdue and Illinois RPI ratings.
Purdue has an OOC SOS of 244. In addition, they are 4 and 4 on the road, not impressive. Worse, they have bad losses, at home, to Garner-Webb (171) and North Florida (191).
Illinois is 2 and 6 on the road.

This from a team that has no OOC top 100 rpi wins, 4 total ( 2 of those against Temple ). Just be glad you are mentioned.

I agree Purdue shouldn't even be on the first four out. Also he has the SEC with 6 teams, other than Arkansas and Kentucky the SEC is a joke. He looks at BPI, which is just garbage. BPI gives way too much credit to teams that play in a good conference. TCU has won 3 big 12 games and are 57 BPI, (ahead of everyone but SMU in the AAC)

Winning is the most important thing, Wichita St. has 1 top 50 RPI win and that's over Tulsa.

I am not talking about losing to Temple being bad lol. I am saying having that win over Temple would have helped our at large hopes even with the L to Tulane. The next couple of games will be a challenge and if we win them then that helps but it will take a run in the AAC tourney to get a look still.

We will be fine.
Beat Tulane and beat UC and we are in. We should finish as a 2 seed and get an easy first game in the AAC tourney.
I dont think we win in Memphis or Dallas.

Cr8ton was a top 25 team when we beat them.
No one expected that to be a bad win.

BPI is a creation of ESPN, it's a tool they use to control the narrative and try to sway the selection committee. They're doing the same thing in college football with their Total QBR ranking of quarterbacks.

No they weren't
Creighton was ranked 23 in the AP poll when we played them. After the Tulsa loss they were still getting votes but dropped out of the top-25. Then their season went to hell. At the time the game was played it looked like it would be the signature win we would need on Selection Sunday.
