Yup Fresno St is powerhouse of 99

Sacramento St could never get it together

Since I've always thought of UNLV as strictly a hoops school, I'm surprised they have any following at all outside of some football dorms on the campus.

It will be interesting to see UNLV evolve after the new stadium.

At 65%, the University of Alabama only trails the Universities of Vermont and Delaware in percentage of out of state students.

Seems the Tide has parlayed their football success into tuition success, as out-of-staters pay far more.

Good point. That's a real opportunity for an upgrade.

Remember this map is 4 years old. UCF's area is much bigger now, and probably the same with Houston, Memphis, Temple, etc.

This data will not change rapidly in time. Houston will not pass UT or aTm in fans in the foreseeable future.

For UCF it will. In 2015 we were 0-12 and fan interest was at its lowest point in years. 4 years and we're a national brand that owns Central Florida, and not just the Oviedo/Orlando area. And 2015 was before Temple won the AAC and became a respectable program. Memphis too to some extent.

If any P5 conference wanted to really advance into the Northeast, UConn may be a solid choice.

Just sayin'.....

Size of the area of coverage doesn't equal the number of people. Wyoming looks massive, but you have 5x as many people in Connecticut and 11x as many in New Jersey.

Where they go to school, but most college students in the state root for Bama or Auburn

Alabama and Auburn are seen as Alabama's unofficial pro football teams since the NFL has had no desire to put a team in the state of Alabama and all of Alabama's other pro football teams (Birmingham Barracudas, Birmingham Steel Dogs, Birmingham Bolts, Birmingham Iron) all went belly-up.
