If true too bad about UNCW. Wilmington is a nice place to visit.
We should keep the UNCW series alive. Keatts has shown well in his first year.

With potential OOC road games at Richmond, VCU, GA St, and W&M we'll need some decent home opponents. After this season, I can see us scheduling weak opponents at home (and GMU as the return H/H). Needless to say, I don't see us coming close to having the same W/L outcome as our OOC record this year.

Still plenty of room for some new H/Hs. That said, we'll probably have to drop UNCW and/or GSU to balance the schedule. With 9 OOC games (excluding the preseason tournament) we'll probably want at least 5 home games. The way I want to see it:
VCU (Away)
Richmond (Away)
W&M (Away)
GSU or UNCW (Away) - Renew one of them, preferably UNCW for the shorter travel
George Mason (Home)
Guarantee Game - MEAC - (Home) - Norfolk State or Hampton?
Guarantee Game - Big South - (Home) - Longwood or VMI?
New H/H Series (Home) - A10 foe (St Joes, LaSalle, George Washington)
New H/H Series (Home) - P5 foe (VT, UVA, NCState, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh)

I would love a H/H series against the other teams in the DMV. Maryland, GW, American, G'town.

I agree, but Gtown & MD are going to try and avoid H/H with mid-majors and with us winning 19 straight at home, that likely won't help our case. I could see doing a H/H with GW and a guarantee game against American. I was actually surprised to see American not on the schedule this season as a guarantee game. I figured JJ would hit them up first instead of an MSM/UMES for one of the open home slots this year.

we've at least had a recent history with G'town agreeing to it. I can't remember ever playing against the Terps. I do recall playing GW both at home and in DC but it was a while ago.

I didn't even think of Maryland now that they are in the Big Ten. Might be an opportunity for a rare bus trip for them. Worth a shot.

Last I read, Georgetown is not interested in playing ODU anymore. Like UVA and Tech.

Last time I remember us playing Maryland, Paul Webb was coach and the Terps played at Cole Field House

According to ODU media guide, Monarchs lost to MD 70-65 in 87-88, but beat the Terps 87-73 in 86-87. Tom Young coached both teams. It's ironic that in both of ODU's recent worse seasons, 86-87 ( 6 wins) and 2012-13 (5 wins), ODU beat an ACC team (beat U.Va. in 2013)

Personally I'd rather pass on the guarantee games if we can get some decent high mid majors in. I understand the desire to pump up the w/l record, but I'd rather see us play and beat more exciting teams.

Agreed, but I'd also like more than 2 home games. We'll probably have to find something in the middle.

Need to keep the OOC schedule difficult to make up for the general suck of CUSA.
This year's OOC was acceptable in the difficulty department. I think going forward, with the team returned to competitive, the schedule should be more challenging.

I expect this game to be a rough brawl. After all when Mike Rhoades was at vcu , he got a bunch of his front teeth knocked out practicing with his team. Hope we get out of Houston healthy.
