EMU misses last two shots. Rockets win 81-72. Rebounding a huge difference in this game along with clutch defensive and offensive play down the home stretch.

Sophie scores 22 points on eight of 15 shooting and six for six at the free throw line.

Certainly a better game against Eastern this time for the Lady Rockets.

Down three at half time, the Rockets outscore EMU 49-37 in the second half. A much needed win for the Midnight Blue and Gold!

Sounds like it was a great come from behind win by the Rockets. Too bad UT couldn't provide a way to follow it.

From Live stats, Sophie & Inma both with double-doubles. Sophie, with what I believe is a career high 22 points. Jay-Ann, Bre & Janice all also in double figures.

Rockets outrebound the Eagles 57-22. UT actually had more offensive boards, than EMU's total. Wow.

Way too many turnovers though (24 for UT), I assume because UT still had trouble handling the EMU press. Also, only 4 points off the bench.

Rockets end the game shooting 47% from the field and 86.7% from the foul stripe. Rebounding 57-22 in favor of the Rockets!

EMU had 14 steals! They picked on a number of the Rocket ball handlers.

Inma was very quite in the first half but came out hard in the second stanza including a team high dozen rebounds, seven on the defensive end. Credit Janice for rebounding from a terrible first half, 1 for 7 shooting, finishing with 17 points and a team high four assists (I won't mention a team high of six turnovers).

Thanks. Midway through the second half the Rockets' odds were not looking good. Every time they managed a score, EMU answered right back with points and steals. The Rockets domination on the boards and, I'm guessing, their defense forcing Eagles to miss enough shots, made the difference. Sophie's post play must have been something to see if only…..

With Sophie's 22 points, that makes 5 different Rockets to score 20 or more at least once this season, and I think Janice's season high is 19. Can't remember a team that had so many different players that can step up for huge offensive games.

Jim Keller must have been on a job interview, at a wedding or funeral. I can only image the energy he would have brought to this game with his play-by-play.

Good point(s); this young team has really come a long way this year. A distance to go but they have played pretty well down the stretch with the exception of the Akron game. Surely hung in there today and came out on top.

Got to be disheartening for EMU to lose on their home floor and hear a huge roar when the clock runs out. The short pg decided she could do it all herself in the last couple minutes, leaving a slew of excellent three point shooters open on the wings.

Nice to see Janice Monakana put together two good shooting games in a row.

Nice win-------just a few thoughts

1)The Rockets shot well and cleaned up on the boards

2) Turnovers, particularly the passing game still needs some work----they handled the Eastern pressure better than the did at Savage, but still had way too many turnovers----Eastern, being a quick athletic team ate them up at times.

3) Sophie had a monster post game and clearly out shined Eastern's big girls.

4) After being close most of the game, I liked how UT roared back quickly after falling down 12 points rather quickly around the midway point of the second half----no quit with the Rockets today. It looked like the game was slipping away from them, but they would have none of it as they never gave up and caught fire on offense just as Eastern went cold.

5) Cha Sweeney tried to take over the game for the Eastern offense all by herself the last three minutes or so of the game and pretty much fell flat on her face after having an otherwise nice game thus making the final score look a lot worse for Eastern than it really was.

6) Janice Monakana had a nice game despite a slow start and a few instances of being totally out of control driving to the basket-----if she can ever learn to play under better control, she will be a shoo in for All MAC before she is finished.
