Coach Haase correctly said that we would know where we stood after this road trip. Unfortunately, the Blazers came up 0-2.

We need to regroup quickly, because this game Thursday has the most implications for our eventual tournament seeding. WKU has the least favorable schedule in the league, and I believe they will lose at least two more. We are in a must-win situation Wednesday to jump the Toppers.

Confidence is now high for a 3-5 finish in final seeding. With UTEP holding the tiebreaker over us, barring some huge WTF losses, LT and UTEP will finish 1 and 2. In fact, if UTEP could pull off the win over LT Thursday night, the league will be theirs to lose.

Old Dominion losing is a nice development, as it keeps them in 5th place. They are 1 game behind us, and we hold the tiebreaker.

So we need a huge homecourt advantage Thursday. Even with another loss and a 13-5 finish, the Blazers will still likely eventually clinch the 3 seed with a win Thursday, as the 3-7 teams in the league are all in simultaneous freefall.

However, if WKU loses to us Thursday, I believe they will finish no better than 12-6.

I can't underscore the importance of this game. That's why I'm worried about the mental state of the team following tonight's loss. In the grand scheme of things, due to the tiebreaker situation, we would've likely needed a 15-3 record to win the league. We can still get an excellent draw if we can beat WKU and finish 3-1 after that.

A top 4 seed gets us a bye in round 1 right?

That's correct. Big difference in the 3 and 4 seed this year though. A 3 seed gets us playing UTSA/Marshall winner, while 4 seed likely draws ODU or WKU.

ODU is 1½ games behind us.

Any team in this league can win the tourney.

If we win Thursday, I predict we will finish in 3rd all alone.

Also, for multi-bid purposes, ODU, La Tech, and UTEP will all be right on the verge of an at-large bid if they can finish the season with only one more loss and make the conference finals.

Charlotte really could have helped us out had they pulled it out against La Tech. Still going to need some help to tie or pass La Tech in the standings.

So what happens if UAB UTEP and WKU all finished tied for 2nd. With each team 1-1 vs each other. This would happen if utep gets beat by LA tech and wins out and both wku and uab win out.

If so what is the tie breaker...if it is record vs best team uab would be 1-1 vs LA tech while the others would be 0-1

Then after that wku beat utep would that make wku 3 and utep 4.

Or since utep is 1-0 vs uab the now #2 make utep #3.

Sounds confusing it is. Somebody get on it!

I believe the second tiebreaker if records against each other are equal, is the record against the top team, and then working down. UAB would win the tiebreaker because 1-1 is better than 0-1, so we would get the second seed.

Wouldn't be too surprised if MTSU beats WKU tomorrow. Also think UTEP has a legitimate shot of upsetting Tech at home. Will be a very interesting final stretch of games.

La Tech has not lost a home conference game since entering CUSA. Gotta happen sometime, I suppose

Not after the azz whooping Tech just got from ODU. UTEP may keep it competitive but I would not be the least bit surprise if Tech beat the Miners by double digits at home.

I will love to finish in first place but the 2 lost in texas decrease our chance tremendously
Third PLACE will be fine with la tech and utep in front of us.
The semi final will be very difficult for the first place team because they may play
ODU or western kentucky
