That is a puny number... A grinder game, foul fest.
Tuesday's game will be much, much different!!
Emu 7 assts 6 in the first half And only one in the second. Horrendous team play! Saw some of pregame shoot around again they did most dunks.
Super, is your cup of coffee (or hot chocolate) half full or half empty?
The game was a 'tale of two halves', the first half was beautiful EMU ball.
The 2nd half was fouls, fouls, fouls, etc. Ugly.
We won on the road.
Did you watch both halves?
My cup was 60% full last night. Won the first half. Lost the second half. Won the game.
Some might think as we won the game, the should be maybe 2/3 or 3/4 full.
Win is all that really matters.
A cup is always full just sure what of most of the time. As with most of the games this year a tale of 2 halfs. If a cup starts out empty then its half full if the cup starts out full then its half empty. A truely meaningless statement that can be twisted and turned. I look at what it takes to win and this team and i use that word loosely doesn't have it. The lack of asts points to a lack of any type of team offense. we're the 2nd worst in the mac and one of the worst in NCAA when it comes to assts. Niu is or was the worst. Yes i watched the whole game and the only we won is because niu didnt want it.
Do they give assists on FTs?
When teams score a lot of points on FTs, assists go down.
Lot of this stuff is mathematical formulas...
This site gives a good comparisonhttp://www.teamrankings.com/ncb/rankings/conferences/
And most of our offense (such as it is) you wouldn't get an assts for, even most of our fouls .our offense is a one on one Dribble an shoot there hardly anything to give an assts on. And have to have a cup/glass first for it to be half full or half empty.

Its very strange but that site doesn't have a ranking for dunks! You think with all the hype it would but what do they know? They only care about points per game, rebounds, and shooting percentages!

And boom goes the dynamite! Yes! He combined dunks and lack of assists into one post! Pure OCD/Asperger's genius! Well played my friend, well played.

RE: Gameday: NIU
one stat that sticks out to me after the NIU game is that our 3 bigs (Samuels, Hunter, Ajayi) combined for:
26 min, 2 points, 6 rebounds, and 12 fouls.
not pretty. easy to see why Murphy is going with Nazione.
in hindsight, i wish Murphy would have gone with Ajayi as his traditional big guy from the start of the season. i think Murphy was trying to get Samuels into game shape, and i don't think that bet has paid off. I wonder if Ajayi would have improved if he played ~20 minutes/game. maybe not.

I am a big fan of assigning "starters". 30+ minutes for dominant starters. 20+ for less dominant starters (like Ajayi or Samuels). Every game except maybe some experimentation very early in the season. Murphy does not seem to be of the same mind on this. He is coach so I have to defer, but I am fan so I get to second guess.
HOWEVER, in the case of center I previously thought all three brought different things to the table yet none were the complete package. So I was advocating (to myself) for playing the three headed monster. Let each play their but off for 16 minutes. But I think you are right in the end. Partly to develope the one or two selected for center. But also to develop more continuity with the team chemistry. ie, the teammates know better what they can count on from the center position and what they need to help compensate for.
