I think we've got you beat on the errors...
At least we've been able to overcome them in most of our games so far...

We scored 4 runs in 2 games plus 7 innings. Hard to overcome errors when you don't hit. Starting pitching gave up 1 earned run this weekend.

I don't see how Berry makes it past this season.....we continue to not play fundamental baseball.....it's become the norm.....that has to end.

I hate it for Berry....I like the guy.....however, this cannot continue.....there are too many baseball fans in this town to let this evolve further....

Do we have a new hitting coach this season, or am I mis-remembering that?

Regardless, I don't see Berry back in 2016 if we don't make a regional. Gotta pull the plug & give someone else a shot before our past successes become too distant a memory, and you know it won't break a 2nd-year AD's heart to bring in his own guy.

New coach handles base running, fielding and coordinates camps.

After two weekends, UAB is number 1 in RPI.

I used to look forward to Southern Miss baseball. Scott Berry truly has killed this program....a program that had everything going for it when he took over.

It appears our season has not been cancelled after all.

Finally got in a double-header yesterday in the deep freeze sweeping it from Western Ill. Will play the third game today.

Now 4-1 on the season.

Charlotte lost 2 of 3 to Akron (both losses choked away late with errors):

Game 1: Akron 2-1 (Charlotte gave up 2 runs in 8th after leading 1-0)
Game 2: Charlotte 1-0
Game 3: Akron (5-4) Charlotte gave up 2 runs in 9th after leading 4-2). Catcher dropped the ball before tagging out the runner that would have ended the game. Would have ended up 4-3 Charlotte.

Just like your basketball team? What's up with all the Charlotte chokes down the stretch?

We've all been there before though. It's a curse that only learning how to win will fix. We went through a decade like that in basketball. The culture of winning is harder to achieve than a culture of losing.

I know its early so it won't hold, but I wish we could keep this up all season. We have four teams in the Top 25 of the RPI and as a league we've bounced between #1 and #5.

I'm with STUD on this ... Honestly with the softball schedule (no pun intended'), anything short of a regional means he's gone.

And as noted, if you can't play the fundamentals... then someone on the coaching staff is NOT doing their job.

Um, you've got to look at who they've played. They took 2 of 3 from Cal St. Fullerton after losing 2 of 3 to Indiana. Those are two quality teams. Stanford lost most of their offense, which wasn't great last year to begin with, but they've got a ton of pitching, including a couple all-americans.

Rice has faced quality pitching so far, but their first test against truly elite pitching will be Friday night vs. Quantrill.

I've heard a rumor that McGillis has told him it's regional or bust for his job.

Losing consecutive games against UNO, UNF, and St. Louis sure ain't gonna help that cause.
